The girls get their first sailing lesson today as we travel from one Grenadines Island to the next! On our 43' Gulfstar, Last Affair, we decided we wanted to install some LED lighting in the Owners Stateroom. We wanted it to be able to cast enough light to light the room, as well as allow us to dim them to form accent lighting. While you can purchase LED lighting now at West Marine the prices are still very high. The great news is that LED lighting can be purchased in spools very inexpensively on line. I purchased a 15 foot spool of waterproof RGB LED with a controlling unit and remote control for about $40 from Amazon. These spools allow you to cut the LED strips to any length you want as well. This video shows how we contracted the LED lights in the rear on our boat. When the ice opens up in Scoresby Sund, East Greenland, late summer, North Sailing (famous for their whale watching tours in Husavik, Iceland) offers unique expeditions in the fjords on two masted schooner Hildur. This footage was taken just east of Scoresby Sund in 2011 when the crew was sailing Schooner Hildur over for the season. There was quite a lot of ice and difficult to find a way in to the fjord. Just after pushing through some ice floe the crew, to much joy, realizes that this beautiful polar bear had been nearby the whole time.

Wir segeln von Dokos nach Spetsai, Auf dieser kleinen Insel haben die Venezianer ihre deutlichen Spuren hinterlassen. Der Hauptort Spetses erinnert sehr an eine italienisch Stadt. Dazu kommen noch abendländlische Einflüsse, ein dichter Pinienwald und der Geruch der Gewürze, welcher der Insel ihren Namen gegeben hat

A split start was made this year for the ARC due to poor weather at the beginning of the event. On Sunday 25 November 2012 the RORC Racing Division headed out of Las Palmas Marina and made their way across the Atlantic towards Saint Lucia whilst the majority of cruising boats remained inside the marina until the second start day on Tuesday 27 November. Volevo Diventare Gilmour...... ma come vedete (e sentite) non ci sono riuscito..... vi racconto una storia: Ho 17 anni (è il 1977) sono a Zurigo con un mio amico di 16 anni. Abbiamo avuto un mitico colpo di fortuna lo zio di Angelo è il capo portiere dell'Hotel Nova Park; a Zurigo c'è un concerto dei Pink Floyd; e dove alloggiano????? All'hotel Nova Park!!!!! Lo zio di Angeloi sapendo quanto amassimo il gruppo ci invita a casa sua e noi non ce lo facciamo ripetere. Via su un treno pieni di emozioni per il concerto da andare a vedere. Arriviamo a Zurigo e andiamo subito al Nova Park..... un sogno!!!! Tutto l'albergo è per i Pink Floyd e per il loro staff. Ci aggiriamo increduli per quella situazione che neanche otevamo immaginare. Poi entriamo in una saletta bar ed ecco l'apparizione.... Dave.... Dave Gilmour in carne ed ossa. Per poco non ci prende un colpo, poi ci riprendiamo e, con un po' di coraggio e tantissima emozione, andiamo a salutarlo. "Hi Dave, you are the best!!!! In Italy we play Pink Floyd music" gli tendo la mano e..... lui me la stringe!!!!! Azzzzzzz, Dave mi sta stringendo la mano!!!!! Ci risponde qualcosa che non capiamo ma decidiamo che ci ha detto ci vediamo domani al concerto. E poi andiamo al concerto allo Sporthallestadion..... non abbiamo il biglietto ma questo cartellino che da allora conservo come un oggetto prezioso. Ci aggiriamo per la sala e ci sentiamo importanti per avere al collo qualcosa che dice Pink Floyd ARTIST.... E poi il concerto inizia e quando Daveattacca l'assolo di Time sento le sue dita sulle corde, sento la mia mano nella sua, sento le mie dita sulle corde.... Sogno di essere Gilmour!!!!!! Bellissimi sogni da ragazzi..... che peraltro non ho mai smesso di fare. Non sono diventato Gilmour ma oggi, 35 anni dopo, insieme a mia figlia che ha 17 anni, ci divertiamo a suonare "Wish you were Here" sorridendo di noi..... Forse non serviva diventare Dave per essere felice!!!!!!
