Assieme al noto giornalista Mino Taveri, siamo saliti a bordo dello Swan 65 "Peak" (che proprio in occasione del Tag Heuer VelaFestival ha festeggiato i suoi 40 anni), dove ci aspettavano Roberto Beccari, amministratore delegato di Tag Heuer e Luca Oriani, direttore del Giornale della Vela.

Al TAG Heuer VelaFestival è protagonista anche il mondo delle regate: assieme a Gianluca Romoli, direttore sportivo dello Yacht Club Repubblica Marinara di Pisa sull'Arno e a Alessandro Masini, vicepresidente dello Yacht Club Punta Ala, scopriamo le novità relative alla quarta e prossima edizione della 151 miglia, la "lunga" che in pochissimo tempo ha conosciuto un successo davvero importante. Una regata semplice, accessibile a tutti, con un format indovinato: da quest'anno, inoltre, o si gareggia in IRC o in ORC, non ci si potrà iscrivere in entrambe le categorie.

Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell, the dynamic sailing duo who claimed silver in 470 class at the 2012 Olympic Games, are to go their separate ways in their quest for Olympic gold in Rio Scotsman Patience, and Bithell, from Rochdale, earned the smiles of the nation this summer with their elated celebrations on winning silver at their first Olympic Games on the waters of Weymouth and Portland. But it's the good friends' determination not to settle for anything less than the top step of the podium in four years' time which has led them to make the decision to part company for the 2016 cycle.

Stuart Bithell, who claimed Olympic sailing silver in 2012, has revealed he is to team up with fellow ex-470 sailor Chris Grube in his quest for gold at Rio 2016. Here Stuart and Chris speak of their new partnership and the switch to the 49er class.

Il sole splende alto su Livorno, le bandiere sventolano a festa, tutte le barche sono ormeggiate in banchina sotto gli occhi dei visitatori, gli stand hanno aperto i battenti e l'attesa dei grandi velisti premiati in serata ha reso l'atmosfera elettrizzante.

Saliamo a bordo del TT700, la barca autocostruita a Bolzano da Andrea Macciocu, ex direttore commerciale di una grande industria chimica che ha deciso, a una certa età, di dedicarsi interamente alla sua passione. L'imbarcazione è costruita interamente in legno, è carrellabile e presenta un'attenzione particolare al green e all'eco-sostenibilità.
