The 38ft Transit catamaran on its first sail. Fortunately we had light winds as it is never a good idea to use new sails in any strength wind. Also the daggerboards were yet to be fitted, so leeway was more than normal, although we were pleased to find the boat still tacked easily. Australian Sailing’s athletes won six medals at the 2015 Delta Lloyd Regatta for Olympic and Paralympic classes in Medemblik, The Netherlands (26-30 May): 3 in the Paralympic classes (2 gold, 1 bronze) and 3 in the Olympic classes (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze). In the Olympic classes Western Australian Matt Wearn won the Laser, Jake Lilley (QLD) took the silver in the Finn class and Joel Turner (QLD) and Lewis Brake (QLD) won the bronze in the 49er. We caught up with Jake & Joel in this video wrap, plus Haylee Outteridge (NSW) who together with crew Sarah Cook (NSW) qualified for the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Weymouth by placing 7th in the 49erFX in their first international medal race & only second international event together. Crews that secured their outstanding qualification for Weymouth at Delta Lloyd Regatta were Australian Sailing Squad’s Will Phillips (VIC) and James Wierzbowski (VIC) in the 49er, Haylee Outteridge (NSW) and Sarah Cook (NSW) in the 49erFX, Mitch Kennedy (QLD) and former ASS member Jeremy O’Connell (VIC) in the Laser class, as well as Carrie Smith (WA) and Jaime Ryan (QLD) in the 470W. 2 Male swans struggle hard for a female, almost drowning eachother!

Departed Vanua Balavu for Fulaga in the Lau Group of Islands. After a windswept night battling building seas and winds on the bow we decided to divert for shelter on a small island known as Namuka here in the Lau Group of Fiji. This little island turned out to be one of our favourite spots in the Lau ... a bay all to ourselves and with a sandy shallow floor and sandy beaches to match ... it is a 'wow'!

This week in the WoW the fast French foiling trimaran L'Hydroptere trials in Los Angeles prior to their attempt on the LA-Honolulu Transpac record, Day 3 at the Delta Lloyd regatta and the wind is up, Day 2 at the Bullett 32 Austria Cup and the boats are foiling, highlights of the Swan 60 Worlds, the North American A Cat Championships and Volvo boat Team Vestas Wind is back sailing in Lisbon.

Yes, this is why you if you are buying a drone, you should ONLY buy a waterproof Drone like the new Mariner2 (Splash Drone) that floats! One of my best Mariner / Splash Drones went down last week, signal got blocked and it flew off on its own and as the video shows, crashed into the sea from 300ft at almost 50mph based on the last recorded descent rate that I recorded. Still don't know exactly what interfered with it, but definitely the message here is that any other drone would have been lost to the depths of Davey Jones Locker alongside many other vessels lost at sea... but my Mariner held in there and stayed afloat for over an hour while I searched endlessly trying to figure out which direction it flew off to! I receive emails from many of you that have lost drones in the water, whether ocean, lakes, swimming pools, rain squalls, etc... and all I can tell you is that if you want to avoid any losses in the future, then a waterproof drone is your ONLY answer! And lets not forget that the new Mariner2 (Splash Drone) is not only waterproof, it comes with cargo drop feature, search and rescue capabilities for Coast Guard or otherwise, can carry an LED flare to 300ft for 15 minutes, drop a self-inflating life preserver to a drowning swimmer in the water, films in 4K UltraHD resolution with a GoPro4, and on and on and on... this drone is worth a look, and you can find it in the store section of our website at: http://www.AmbientRealLife.com As always, thanks for watching, and look forward to hearing your comments!
