A complex local weather system proved challenging to the Race Committee on day two of fleet racing at the Audi RC44 Porto Cervo Cup causing three races to be completed, but on two entirely different race areas. Ultimately races were won by Team Aqua, Team Nika and Bronenosec Sailing Team, the latter putting in the most consistent performance to end the day on top of the leaderboard.

Die Atmosphäre wird am besten in diesem neuen Video dokumentiert. Wir hatten wieder jede Menge Spaß, aber es ist auch gleichzeitig tolle Musik entstanden. Nun kann ich selber das Endergebnis kaum noch abwarten. Ein letzter Studiotag mit Caro Leuzinger steht noch an, und einige Spuren kommen demnächst auch noch aus anderen Studios weltweit. We motor-sailed from San Diego, California to the San Francisco Bay area. 10 days, 111 hours at sea and 470 nautical miles. The uphill battle against wind and currents, sailing north on the west coast is no pleasure cruise. The fleet split today and have been battling their way to the finish on both sides of a huge Traffic Separation Zone in the Dover Channel. After a day of majestic coastal racing we'll see who turns the corner first for the sprint to the The Hague pit-stop.

While the breeze was occasionally similar to yesterday’s when the full schedule of match racing was completed at the Audi RC44 Porto Cervo Cup, a light, tricky wind, combined with an annoying left-over swell, caused a long wait out on the water, then a long wait ashore before the opening day of fleet racing was finally abandoned. Tomorrow’s conditions are looking more favourable.

Earlier today we saw a dramatic split in the fleet and in this episode we get the sense that it just might pay off for the Alvimedica boys. Genny has their coach and mentor Ken Read on the show and he gives great insight as the Den Hague pit stop looms on the horizon.
