This demo video was made while I was in Hiva Oa during the passage of the Blue Planet Odyssey rally in April 2015. I think it is very important for young people to preserve their original and ancestral culture and it is important for people to create dancing & musical arts. Good for the mind, good for the body. Ce morceau est inspiré de la grande légende marquisienne, MAKA’I’AANUI, et a fait partie du spectacle éffectué en novembre 2014 à la salle omnisports de HIVAOA. Le clip a été tourné sur le site de UPEKE à TAAOA - HIVA OA,un des plus grands de la Polynésie française. Grand Merci à Luc(caméraman) que la troupe a eu la privilège de rencontrer lors d’une soirée organisée par le comité du tourisme et la roulotte Heihina,sur le quai de TAHAUKU,en l’honneur d’un tour du monde de voiliers. Le groupe de danses fait partie de l’association TE MEHOA qui compte une quarantaine d’adhérantes et adhérants,dont 20 danseuses danseurs et musiciens.Les figurantes et figurants du clip sont celles et ceux qui étaient disponibles lors du tournage,car les autres étaient absentes à cause des vacances scolaires. QUE DIRE D’AUTRES ! Sinon, que l’association a vu le jour en 2008, et est composée de jeunes âgés de 14 à 30 ans, et qui aiment raconter dans leurs spectacles, les grandes légendes de la terre des hommes (Té fénua énata) et leur amour pour celle-ci. Leurs danses sont accompagnées de rythmes et de sons contemporains pour plus de richesse dans les expressions. Le groupe n’hésite pas pour cela, à utiliser synthétiseurs et autres instruments modernes, mélangés au pahu, pû, etc… ce qui leur ont valu d’ailleurs critiques de la part de certains esprits conservateurs. Le groupe veut tout simplement s'exprimer selon ce qu’il ressent, leur vision d’une culture qu’on a essayé de leur confisquer, et qui leur échappe aujourd’hui pour ce qu’elle aurait pû être réellement. Il laisse cependant avec tout le respect qui se doit le soin aux Tuhuna marquisiens (s’il en existe encore !) le soin de ramener tout le monde sur la bonne voie. L’association œuvre actuellement sur un deuxième projet de voyage pour la Nouvelle-Zélande ou Hawaï. Elle cherche des âmes sensibles (sponsors et généreux donateurs) qui voudront bien l’aider financièrement à réaliser le rêve de quelques jeunes Marquisiennes et Marquisiens qui souhaiteraient voir d’autres horizons. (Merci à eux) TE MEHOA signifie :Les GRANDES ESPACES. Autrefois les Marquisiens venaient au monde et mouraient dans leur propre vallée. Tout jeune on l’initiait à tout ce qui lui permettait de survivre. Cette initiation à la dureté de la vie se faisait dans les terres avoisinantes, inhabitées, ou il y avait les grandes espaces inconnus, et ou il apprenait à chasser, à pécher, à confectionner ses outils, à escalader les hautes falaises, à reconnaître et comprendre les différents aspects de la nature : en un mot , à grandir ! L’association a la chance depuis sa création de bénéficier d’un QG situé dans la vallée de TAHAUKU-HIVAOA comprenant un grand bâtiment équipé de tables chaises, electricité et matériel de sono, prétés généreusement par leurs propriétaires RAUZY Jean et RAUZY Guy (ancien Maire de l’ile) qu’elle remercie chaleureusement. Grâce à cela l’association peut s’y regrouper tous les week-end et s’adonner à ses activités à buts lucratifs. C’est ainsi qu’elle a pu financer son premier voyage en 2010 en Nlle–Zélande.
