Juni 2014 in Hamburg gestartet. 2015: Kanarischen Inseln 2016: Kapverdische Inseln, im Februar 2016 unsere Atlantik-Überquerung nach Französisch Guyana. Dann kleine Antillen und noch einmal die Guyanas und Suriname mit der Nereid’s Rally. 2017: ABC-Inseln (nur BC), Mexiko und Belize. In Mexiko haben wir eine dreiwöchige Rundreise im Landesinneren unternommen. Im Anschluss kamen Providencia und Kolumbien Festland (ebenfalls mit einer dreiwöchigen Rundreise) und die San Blas Inseln in Panama. 2018: Wir wurden im Januar in Panama vom Blitz getroffen. Die Reparatur dauerte drei Monate. Nach der Passage durch den Panama Kanal haben wir den Rest des Jahres in Ecuador verbracht und fünf Wochen das Landesinnere erkundet. 2019: Osterinsel, Gambier, Tuamotu und Gesellschaftsinseln. 2020: Die Corona-Krise hat uns in Gambier (Franz. Polynesien) erwischt. Wir werden sehen, wohin der Wind uns treibt und wie weit wir kommen.

I took this video while sailing down the coast from Catalina Island down to San Diego.

Winded Voyage is really under way! No turning back. We haven't been on land since we left Port Leucate France. We leave mainland Spain behind for our first major passage. First overnight sail for me and Steph. I though it would be somewhat intimidating to be alone out at sea in the dark, but it was an amazing experience. The moon was like an eyelash barely reflecting the sun's light which made the Milky Way more visible than I've ever seen before. There was no visible horizon line between sea and sky, so it felt as if we were floating in space, cruising in the infinite universe. Then hundreds of fluorescent blue jelly fish appeared under the stirred wake of Galopin. There were stars above and below! At sunrise we saw whales which may have been Sperm Whales. We finally got some wind and sailed into Ciutadella on the island of Minorca Spain. Please make your voice heard: Subscribe, like, dislike, or comment. Team Ireland Vendée Globe Challenge is a sailing team that will see the first ever Irish sportsperson compete in sailing's most difficult race, the Vendée Globe. A strong team of professionals, volunteers, and partners is working to ensure the Team's skipper, Enda O'Coineen, has the best chance possible of completing this non stop, unassisted, extreme sailing race around the globe. The Vendée Globe is a sailing race around the world and nonstop singlehanded. Skipper sails around the world from west to east via the three major capes of Good Hope, Leeuwin and the Horn. There is a long slide down the Atlantic, the perilous voyage across the Southern Ocean with firstly the Indian Ocean and its crossed seas, then the Pacific Ocean, the world’s biggest ocean. Finally, there is the climb back up the Atlantic to head back to Les Sables d’Olonne, which marks the start and finish of the Everest of the seas.
