The 17th of April 2020 we left marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :) This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. And then comes the fickle winds, which also bring back memories of Maine in the summer. Meanwhile I'm contending with some south setting current which has me drifting a little close to Virginia Beach. Nonetheless, just after midnight, on March 30, I am anchor down in Fishing Bay. Two days later I find a wind to sail into Jackson Creek, where I intend to haul out at the Deltaville Boatyard. I am then informed that the Deltaville Boatyard will not allow me to work on my boat in the yard, which doesn't work for me at all, so I ring up True North Boat Works just around the corner and they can accommodate me. Our first stop at the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) was on the island Pohnpei. We walked the jungles, visited waterfalls and explored the interesting and mythical ancient city Nan Madol.
