Ingredients: 500 g white flour 400 ml of Luke warm water 4 teaspoons of instant yeast 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 cereal spoon salt 3 cereal spoons of dried milk Note: This dough is very very sticky. Don’t add anything to make t not sticky - It is supposed to be! Make sure you knead the dough for a minimum of 10 minutes - better still 15 minutes Let the dough rise covered until it doubles in size. It will take around 90minutes in the Turkish heat in the summer. I "pour" the risen dough straight in the tin so I don't knock out the air bubbles. No clue what the oven temperature is on-board - I just turn not up to full on - I am guessing it is about 200 C. For AR

It was the Queens Jubilee weekend here in the UK and with our engine fixed, it was time to head on our first 'longer' sail. We picked Polkeris in South Cornwall to head to due to the protection from the Easterly wind and quiet setting. On the way, we were greeted by a pod of dolphins- we couldn't believe it! After a lot of officials visiting on our vessel which we couldn't film, we were well instructed that we could NOT leave the marina to sail anywhere else in Tunisia?! This was explained to us that; since the new prime minister has taken over there has been political instability within Tunisia, and I believe also problems with human trafficking, drugs and all sorts of other things on boats! I also think that corruption is in every pore of society there and it is obviously beneficial if we stay put. In the long run we decide to stay for a while, mainly because the locals and marina staff are actually very nice and friendly, and it is very reasonably priced. But for anyone visiting be very careful, corruption is everywhere, especially the police! unless you go into the desert and then you find places like Douz just want allow it, so it is an easier place to travel and live 👍 Anyway we find resolutions easier with the Harbour Master, and get on with explore Bizerte. Yes we do manage to get in to the water this week, after fitting the new bow thruster and filling the area under the bed with 1.4 tons of ballast. Unbelievable, we couldn't believe we managed to find where to place all of that. Then the boat was well balanced and ready to go! It has been a long year working on her but our problems are not out of the way yet. As we are turning all the systems on for the first time we encounter some problems to tackle. Nothing out of this world but enough to stress us out at some points. We are then in the water with no major leaks. Stay tuned for the next weeks first adventure! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

The first in our Atlantic Ocean crossing series. A light airs start from Las Palmas following the Moroccan coastline proved interesting when we were approached by a Moroccan patrol boat. We suspect they were looking for smugglers (drugs/people) as they asked us to report to them if we saw any suspicious activity. As we are heading south during the winter months we had trouble with shaded solar panels and low power levels. As a result, we had to run the engine to charge batteries which is always a disappointment for us as we try to avoid engines or generators if we can. Fortunately we run a gas/induction combo hob so we could still cook our meals without using battery power this meant we could conserve it for running navigation systems. It was interesting to watch the kids and their reactions to our Trans Atlantic experience. Certainly Olly was in his element but Ayden was definitely nervous at times. The good news was that by the end of the crossing all of us had grown in confidence both in ourselves and in Paikea.
