🌌 Tuning Out: A Hidden Trauma Response 🌌 Have you ever found yourself zoning out during a conversation, feeling like you're watching life from a distance? This is known as "tuning out," a common trauma response that many people experience. Here’s what you need to know ✹What It Is: Tuning out is a protective mechanism wherein the mind detaches itself from overwhelming emotions or stressful situations. It's like hitting the pause button and allowing you to escape reality when the feelings are too much to bear. 🔍 Why This Happens: The human brain seeks refuge and security when confronted with the memory of trauma or fear. Tuning out is, in effect, a means of protection against an undesirable memory or sensation that develops a temporary safe haven. 🛑 Signs You May Be Tuning Out: 1. You catch yourself daydreaming or staring off into space during conversations. 2. It would almost seem that you saw life, only you're unable to become a part of it. 3. Time slips away and you can hardly remember what happened within the day. âŁïž Remember: Healing is a journey, and it is okay to ask for support along the way. In acknowledging your responses to your trauma, you are brave enough to work toward your recovery.  You are not alone; support is always available to walk you on your journey toward wholeness. Silence upon answers to trauma should be broken and let us understand the same together.

Week 4 of the season ending Frosties Regatta at Strangford Lough Yacht once again say some tight racing in the IRC 1 class. The crews were greated with with 8 to 12 knots of breeze from North West which increase to 20 in the rain squalls. The J109 Going To Red and the A35 Le Bascular continued there matching racing series to see who would take the title of Frosties Champion 2023. The team on J109 GTR lead early but were run down on the first run to be just behind the A35 at the leeward mark. A tight rounding on the J109 couple with some issue getting the kite down allowed GTR to snatch the lead back. After stretching out a good lead on the second beat GTR looked to have a comfortable run home until they tangled with Attica and Atalante, the team recovered to lead around the bottom mark. After some debate the team decide it was best to do some turn incase they had infringe before beating up into the oncoming rain squall. Can You See Dolphins While Sailing in Croatia? Croatia's stunning coastline and crystal-clear Adriatic Sea are a dream for sailors. But imagine the thrill of spotting playful dolphins alongside your boat! So, the question is: can you encounter these charismatic creatures while sailing in Croatia? The answer is yes, there is a chance! The Adriatic Sea is home to several dolphin species, including: Bottlenose dolphins: These acrobatic dolphins are the most common in the Adriatic and are known for their playful jumps and friendly curiosity. Common dolphins: Smaller and faster than bottlenose dolphins, these dolphins travel in large pods and are often seen leaping out of the water. Dwarfe sperm whales: Not technically dolphins, but still fascinating to see, these small whales can sometimes be spotted in deeper waters. While dolphin sightings aren't guaranteed on any sailing trip, there are some factors that can increase your chances: Time of year: Spring and summer (May to September) see more dolphin activity in the Adriatic. Location: Areas with abundant fish, like around islands and underwater reefs, attract dolphins. Tour options: Some sailing trips in Croatia offer specifically designed dolphin-watching excursions. These trips often take you to areas with higher dolphin concentrations and may even involve experienced guides who can help you spot them. Here are some additional tips for spotting dolphins while sailing in Croatia: Keep an eye out! As you sail, be vigilant and scan the horizon for signs of movement, splashes, or fins breaking the surface. Bring binoculars. This will allow you to get a better look if you spot something in the distance. Listen for blowholes. Dolphins exhale through a blowhole on their back, which creates a distinctive puff of air and mist. Be patient and respectful. Dolphins are wild animals, so if you do spot them, enjoy the experience from afar and avoid disturbing them. Even if you don't encounter dolphins, a sailing trip in Croatia promises stunning scenery, charming towns, and unforgettable memories. But with a little planning and some luck, you might just get that magical moment of seeing these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. https://croatia-sailing-family-holidays.com/sailing-in-croatia/sailing-in-croatia-with-dolphins/
