Denied Entry After Sailing 8 days and Accused of Stealing our own boat...After the toughest, scariest sail yet we finally made it to Guatemala! Our friends who were just here@BeauAndBrandy give us some tips to make it over the sandbar. Now we wish we could say it’s “smooth sailing” from here… but that’s definitely not the case. For any passage there’s hundreds of things to prepare and we missed one, a big one! This is only our second time sailing to another country and we definitely made a rookie mistake. Consider this lesson learned. Oh and because we were missing paperwork, they accused us of potentially having stolen Eva. We didn't break out the rebuild videos to show that our blood sweat and tears are literally in her core, but we were tempted! Thanks for hanging on through this trial of an episode. We were EXTREMELY hesitant to even post it. We know we are opening ourselves up to a heap of criticism, but we think it's important to show some of the bad that comes with all the good of this lifestyle. Mistakes happen, but I can promise you that at least this specific mistake, will never, ever, happen again. Love you all! After three weeks all we have left in our fridge is two apples and a pack of beets. We decide it's time to leave our hideout and sail around the corner of the island so we can provision the boat properly. Our time at anchor getting used to life onboard with Sierra has been fantastic, but it's time to get a move on and start our sailing for the season! The docks themselves are not designed for sailboats, made of concrete with no bumpers and there are some really big wakes that roll through the Marina. Brown's Marina - Bimini Bahamas. Clean and in excellent condition. Super helpful staff and good wifi. Ernest Hemmingway wrote about this marina in his book Islands in the Stream. End of the World Saloon - not open but we meet the owner and went for a tour. Would definitely recommend checking it out when it reopens after its repairs are complete. Big Game Club - only had one meal here but it was good although pricey. This is a 6 Cabin/6 head layout + 2 small crew cabins, but surprisingly BALI was able to accomplish a very roomy and fair space distribution all around. Rico and I have chartered a lot of Catamarans in our career, and as of right in my personal opinion, this one is the Ultimate Bahamas Charter Boat. No, we are not sponsored by BALI in any way (they actually don't even know about this Tour lol)! The reason I like this Model is that you get A LOT of value for the size (and the money). Some of my fav features are: Massive Flybridge, Very functional Galley with 2 residential side-by-side refrigerators!!!, fabulous open concept salon, Door forward and a large openable window, convertible garage door aft, seating area at the bow, and the layouts instead of the trampolines! The staterooms were very well appointed and all very similar in size (so no need to toss a coin for a better cabin:) I would love to Tour a 5-cabin layout which has a massive master stateroom on the Port side, I think it would make a great Liveaboard Yacht or an awesome Caribbean / Mediterranean Cruiser.
