This episode covers my 8th outing in the new-to-me 1987 Precision 16 sailing dinghy I purchased locally for $800. This time I return to Lake Pueblo, Colorado after a 5 year hiatus. Lake Pueblo is a Colorado state park along the Arkansas River just outside the city of Pueblo, Colorado. The park features swim beaches, two marinas, two modern boat ramps, ample trailer parking and nice picnic areas. The marinas offer boat and jet ski rentals and the lake gets very busy during the summer. But on a nice 67F day in December...there was hardly anyone on the lake. The Precision 16 is a lightweight Stephen Seaton-designed un-ballasted centerboard sailing dinghy with a planing hull manufactured from 1982 until the mid 90s. It was superseded in 1995 by the smaller Jim Taylor-designed Precision 15 (P-15CB and P-15K). En este episodio dejamos atrás Strangford Lough, un lugar espectacular pero técnicamente exigente, donde las mareas, corrientes y la planificación previa son clave para una navegación segura. Antes de la salida se produce la pérdida del dron, consecuencia de una cadena de pequeños errores de coordinación y comunicación a bordo. Una situación evitable que sirve como recordatorio de lo rápido que pueden complicarse las cosas cuando se mezclan tareas, espacios reducidos y falta de preparación. Analizamos la salida del lough, el momento elegido para aprovechar la corriente, y cómo interactúa con las fuertes corrientes del North Channel rumbo al Belfast Lough. También mostramos cómo, incluso con el mar aparentemente en calma, una mala decisión de timing puede cambiarlo todo. Además, hago un análisis detallado del atraque, revisando varios errores menores que, combinados, generaron una situación innecesariamente arriesgada. #sailing coastline SICILY 181 nautical miles avoiding stormy sky and jelly fish exploring volcanic islands, Trapani and Capital City Palermo. Sailing the routes ancient traders and mythical gods used and checking out marinas along the voyage. The weather changes increasing use of engine but striped dolphins join for a race and a play. San Vito lo Capo is beautiful and we recommend you visit this town and Palermo. Trapani is the obvious port to head for when on voyage from Sardinia to Sicily and staff at Marina Stabile were very helpful allowing use of their workshop for minor repairs. We're anchored in the fishing village called Elinkine. We've been busy the past few days attending local festivities, so we decided to stay on the boat and make food. First we had to go shopping in town and then Mana put her chef's hat on. She wears it well and her food is delicious. I was out of cash, and the closest cash machine was in Cap Skirring, the popular tourist destination. Djibril, our trusty chauffeur took us there. I got cash and let Mana take me to the artisan market where I could buy her something nice. Then we went to the beach. Cap Skirring is famous for its stunning beach. And there were the local beauties sun bathing. Cows. Yes several cows hanging out nude whith no bikinis on. La raison est simple : le manque de temps. Entre mes obligations professionnelles et de la vie personnelle, j'ai dû mettre la chaîne un peu en pause. Vous m'avez manqué ! Mais cette semaine, j'ai décidé de tout plaquer pour me ressourcer là où je me sens le mieux : à bord de mon voilier. Au programme de cette vidéo "retour au source" : 🌟 Le retour à bord : Je vous emmène avec moi pour une immersion totale. L'odeur du bateau, le bruit de l'eau, le calme de la marina... 🌙 Une nuit sur le voilier : Parce que pour se reconnecter, il faut passer du temps de qualité. Je vais passer toute la nuit à bord, vous montrer comment je m'organise pour dormir confortablement. 🔧 Le grand projet : Installation du thermostat DIY ! Vous l'aviez vu sur la vignette, c'est le gros dossier technique du moment. J'installe un thermostat "fait maison" (conçu par mes soins, on verra si ça marche ! 😉) pour mieux gérer mon chauffage. Adieu le froid au réveil ! Je vous montre toutes les étapes de l'installation. C'est une vidéo un peu spéciale, à la fois cosy (la nuit à bord) et technique (le bricolage). After some prodding, Crystal and I both got to ride and swim with these gentle animals. Happy 26th Birthday present, baby! Can't wait until next year.
