It's always a pleasure to welcome back familiar faces and greet new ones at the Yeadon Sailing Club. Membership Renewals: Please note that membership renewal notices have recently been dispatched. Should you have not received yours, kindly inform me at your earliest convenience. We've transitioned to a new system to facilitate our updated membership structure. As you may recall, at our AGM, we collectively embraced a 'pay what you can' approach, aiming to democratize our membership further. Please check your emails for the renewal link, where you can opt to pay via a subscription model through Stripe (our preferred method for its ease of management) or via bank transfer, should that be your preference. Upcoming Events: JD Long Trophy Race: Join us this Saturday at 12:30 for an exhilarating race. John has been meticulously planning our race schedule, and it's shaping up to be a competitive season. Wednesday Evening Races: Starting on the 3rd of April, we'll resume our evening races at 7 p.m. It's a perfect mid-week sailing opportunity. Tuesday Night Training: Kicking off on the 9th of April, our training sessions are open for all. Whether you're keen to learn, assist, or simply enjoy the sport, your participation is warmly welcomed. Open Day - 20th April: A call to arms for volunteers! Our Open Day is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our club and requires the support of our wonderful members. Thierry and Barbara are an adventurous couple and hope to be embarking on a voyage to Greenland and beyond on board their new boat, Gaia (an Amel 50). Boston Harbor Now holds monthly Harbor Use Public Forums for interested stakeholders to learn about and provide feedback on waterfront developments, public planning initiatives, and other harbor projects along Boston Harbor’s waterfront, on the islands, and around the region. In June, we learn about the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture Waterfront Civic/Cultural Space Planning Study. This study assesses the existing and pending civic/cultural uses and future opportunities across waterfront areas in Boston to inform more equitable planning, design, and tenanting approaches for spaces provided through Chapter 91 regulations. Jared Staley, Cultural Planner at the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture, gave a presentation about their study, which will be followed by an open discussion with forum attendees. The event is free and open to the public. This is the recorded version.
