A great and glorious history spanning 130 Years. Founded in 1884 on the quays of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, the Bénéteau yard has crossed successive eras and generations by placing innovation at the heart of its development. From the first fishing boats that Benjamin Bénéteau insisted on fitting with engines to the latest models, it’s incredible how far Bénéteau has come. Discover the video celebrating the anniversary. ________________________________________________________________ The Beneteau story began more than 130 years ago when Benjamin Beneteau started building fishing trawlers in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, France. Today, Beneteau has grown to over twenty manufacturing facilities in France, Italy, Brazil and the United States and has become the worldwide leader in sailboats manufacturing. The Beneteau product lines now include sailboats Oceanis, First and Sense, and powerboats Gran Turismo, Swift Trawler, Barracuda and Monte Carlo. During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time. Hopefully some inspiration to "Quit Job and Go Sailing". -- About BENETEAU -- The first BENETEAU boats sailed from the shipyards of Croix-de-Vie over 135 years ago. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water – first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe. Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world – supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies. -- Philosophy -- We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms – the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations. When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service. At the core of this outstanding service is our exceptional dealer network. Every one of our authorized BENETEAU dealers will be there for you – from choosing the right yacht to the handover and beyond. Your dealer will be your able guide when it comes to maintaining your boat properly and will help you maximize the return on your investment when it comes time to step up to another BENETEAU – and it usually does! We wouldn’t have it any other way. After months of Nutshell being in the marina it’s time to escape. We head out and sail to Tapa Bay. Magnus helps a mate in need when his furler jams. We explore the mangroves and make a new Anchor Buddy. We move on to Indian Islands but it’s very rolly so we return to Tapa Bay and explore some more. The mangroves are beautiful. We venture ashore and try to find a spring but are thwarted from landing due to a crocodile which is right in our path! After a good shakedown for Nutshell, we head back to Darwin to begin fixing the ever increasing list of broken things! Thanks for watching. The Multihull Company is thrilled to unveil the new Tao 452, an exciting addition to the world of blue-water performance cruising catamarans. Meticulously engineered and crafted to perfection, the Tao 452 is set to redefine the catamaran experience for sailors worldwide. If you've been left wanting more from the sailing performance of current production charter catamarans or have been unimpressed by the confined and unwelcoming living spaces of racing vessels, the Tao 452 is your answer. It has been expertly crafted to achieve the perfect equilibrium between on-anchor comfort and on-water performance. She's swift, robust, secure, incredibly comfortable for extended stays, user-friendly to operate, and straightforward to maintain. The Tao 452 represents the evolution of Hill's earlier 421 design, which later became the Balance 451. With a slimmer hull fineness ratio, extended and sleeker bows and sterns, and the addition of dual high aspect ratio daggerboards alongside two shallow fixed mini-keels guarding her rudders and sail drives. She is engineered to be the swiftest yet most spacious and luxurious mid-sized performance production catamaran available today. The quality of the Tao 452 exudes yacht-grade excellence in every aspect and becomes evident the moment you step inside our factory or inspect one of our yachts at an upcoming boat show. For those who harbor a genuine passion for sailing, for those who revel in the art of mastering all points of sail, and for those who seek unwavering reliability, even in the most adverse weather conditions—the Tao 452 is unequivocally your vessel of choice. Here is part 2 of our week out as we buddy boat up with some friends and sail around the San Juan Islands. Things get a bit wild always pushing us to the next level as we learn the ropes on our Island Packet. I hope you enjoy!!
We were so happy to be in such a beautiful scenery sharing time with our little community here at the Marina that we decided to stay in Honfleur for a bit longer. Winter mooring is really cheap here… and as you already know, WE LOVE CHEAP! In the next few weeks we’ll be exploring la belle Normandy and getting a few jobs done before we start our trip down the canals. It’s Saturday before Christmas and it’s market day in Honfleur. The market itself is in the centre of town and it spreads out around the inner basin. The stalls are filled with local produce; cheese, saucisson, cider, all kinds of seafood… and the streets are full of life. After a couple of rounds around it Stuart spotted one of his favourites: merguez, so we bought a few of them and a baguette and headed home for lunch. As we are not going to be using the dingy during our trip through the canals and its floor needs fixing we get to work and put a new patch on it. Twenty four hours to dry and job done! We haven’t used any of the outboards since we got to France so we check if they work in case they need a service before we put them away. It’s been a long time since Stuart got to play on the dingy… I think that this was enough motivation to get the job done. They both work like a charm! :) THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all the generous people who use the links below: Ko-fi - https://ko-fi.com/sailingseabird PayPal - https://www.paypal.me/sailingwayzgoose Patreon - https://patreon.com/SailingSeabird Amazon Wishlist - https://www.amazon.fr/hz/wishlist/ls/14DOHERKUB66T?ref_=wl_share You can also follow us on: Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/SailingSeabird Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/___sailingseabird___/ Don't forget to like, subscribe and click the notification bell if you want to follow this adventure! We're finally heading south, 15 days later than we planned after all the problems with our steering cable and the broken Volvo engine MDI. We head straight for Martinique, the largest yachting centre in the West Indies, where the order of the day is to stock up on critical spares (ones that we did not think we need on a new yacht...) in preparation for heading into the waters of the Pacific, where spares and repair centres are few and far between... __________ Join our Tranquilo community to support us and help us keep our videos coming, become a Tranquilo Patron at https://www.patreon.com/SailingTranquilo In appreciation of your support, Patrons receive - community-only videos - more frequent videos - extended videos - 360 videos Visit our website for more information about our trip and our yacht: http://www.tranquilo.me Instagram: @sailing_tranquilo (http://instagram.com/sailing_tranquilo) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tranquilo.me #boatpreperation #yachtequipment
We manage to complete the reassembly of our sail drive prior to a short break from living aboard Seagull to visit family and friends. The repair goes well and the video shows you some tips for how to get the seals over the sleeves smoothly without causing any damage. We are sad to leave but will be returning soon to carry out more upgrades and repairs.
