#SailingScotland #LochLinnhe #SailingAdventure #DorusMor #SailingMadness Welcome to the final episode of our Little Summer Sailing Adventure around Loch Linnhe, Scotland! We pick up where we left off at The Pool, a favourite anchorage thanks to its stunning scenery and a cosy pub within walking (or wading!) distance. Along the way, Robin and I: • Explore a tall ship that dropped anchor nearby ⛵️ • Navigate dinghy mishaps, muddy landings & a trek across bogs • Share laughs (and Guinness!) in true “Trekking with Dave” fashion • Cook up a delicious “Chicken à la Robin” aboard 👨🍳 • Wake up to an early start for the Corran Narrows & the infamous Dorus Mòr tidal race 🌊 • Enjoy a rare chance to actually sail back towards Ardfern ⚓️ • Reflect on an amazing trip while giving the boat some TLC 🧽 This episode is packed with Scottish west coast sailing, humour, seamanship, and plenty of reality from life on the water. Veleiro Veio Doido # 49 - Travessia Guarapari a Búzios - Tempo: 44 hs. Velejadores experiente: 24 hs
Comece a estudar, assistir vídeos e ler livros.
We're back at Pace! After a desperate mission to fix our old car.. we bought a "new" one, we hit the road and headed straight back to boat-refit-life! Things got real, real fast—we dove right into sanding the hull for the final time and laying down the first coat of primer 💪 Unfortunately... I lost the footage of that part (classic), but we promise we were grinding and coating away! Next up: upgrading our crusty old windlass to a shiny new electric one ⚓. It wasn't all sweat and boat dust, though—we saw the Olympic flame on our day off Thanks for following the journey! Don't forget to like, subscribe, and leave us a comment if you've ever bought a sketchy car just to keep the dream alive 🚙✨ #GoodJibesOnly #SailingLife #BoatWork #WindlassUpgrade #OlympicFlame #Refit #Sailboat #France #Windlass #Primer #SecondHandCar

Victoria Low is the newly appointed CEO of The Magenta Project. I first met Vicky back in 2021, after being told she was the person to talk to if you’re planning any serious international sailing campaign — and it’s easy to see why. With over three decades in sailing public relations and communications, including five Volvo Ocean Race campaigns, she really understands how this sport tells its story. What is so impressive about Vicky is how she uses that insight — and her influence — to drive real change. From authoring a report on women in sailing that exposed endemic discrimination, to leading The Magenta Project, she’s exposing truths, finding real solutions and paving new pathways for the next generation of female sailors. -- This season of ON THE WIND is sponsored by Weather Routing Inc., aka 'WRI', 59º North's longtime weather routing & forecasting friends. Solo NonStop Day 22, Caught in our first ITCZ SQUALL, the boat healed! The Bravest Dog in the World Is About to Change It. Help Us Get There. I’m Kimmer O’Reilly — sailor, survivor, and founder of a mission that shouldn’t be possible. Two-time blood cancer nearly took my life. When I survived, I expected joy. What came instead was an identity crisis. I didn’t know who I was anymore — just that the old me was gone. Then came Casper — my service dog, my best friend, my reason to fight forward. Now, Casper and I are doing something no one believes can be done: a nonstop solo circumnavigation of the globe… starting from the wrong side. We’re sailing east, into the wind and current, through the Southern Ocean and past the Cape of Good Hope — proving that after cancer, life isn’t over. It can be better than it ever was. But we’re not just breaking records. We’re launching a nonprofit to help cancer survivors rediscover purpose, identity, and joy. This GoFundMe isn’t just to keep our sails full. It’s to build something that lasts long after we return. Donate today — not just to help Casper and me sail around the world, but to help thousands of survivors believe they can start again. Let’s show the world what’s possible. 👉 https://bit.ly/BravestDogInTheWorld
Join Chris Beeson for a sailing review of the Sirius Yachts 35DS. The first Sirius 35 DS (DS for deck saloon) was delivered by the boutique German yard, Sirius Yachts, in 2010. We tested the just-launched hull #81 seen at the 2025 Southampton International Boat Show, and it’s likely no two are the same. There are seven different keel configurations, two-, four- and six-berth layouts. The midships berth can be an office, the technical room - a genius space designed to make maintenance a doddle - has even been converted to a sauna for one owner. The layout can be what you want it to be.
What makes Sirius Yachts stand out, however, is the attention to detail: this is clearly a yacht designed and built by people who go cruising a lot and come up with solutions when they find something that annoys them. We could make another video and still not cover everything that stands out about this yacht. Fastidiously and robustly built (cored above the waterline and areas over 40mm of solid laminate below), with the storage of a much larger yacht, this brand makes boats that their owners appreciate as second homes. Fifteen years after first testing it, Chris Beeson is still hugely impressed.
Sirius yachts will be exhibiting for the first time at Annapolis Sail Boat Show from 9th-12th October 2025

Sistemi tecnici integrati e nascosti Impianti elettrici, batterie, condizionamento, e gestione idraulica (pompe, serbatoi) vanno incassati in vani tecnici accessibili, ma fuori dalle zone “living”. We sail deep into the Arctic and make our first anchorage in the ice. Growlers drift past the hull, polar bears leave their traces ashore, and every decision suddenly matters. This episode of Expedition Svalbard follows our offshore passage from mainland Norway to Spitsbergen, a 165-nautical-mile sail into high-latitude waters. Departing on Bjørnøya in freezing temperatures, we deal with shifting winds, currents, long watches and the constant challenge of managing the boat in near-zero conditions. As the mountains of southern Spitsbergen emerge from the clouds, the realities of Arctic sailing set in. We navigate through drifting growlers, monitor ice charts, and prepare for polar bear safety — a legal and practical necessity when going ashore in Svalbard. Before landfall, we practise deterrence procedures and review what it truly means to operate in polar bear country. Anchoring in Hornsund near the Polish research station, we experience the uneasy calm of ice at anchor: the constant clicking of melting growlers, shifting conditions, and the need for vigilance at all times. Ashore, we carefully scout the coastline, finding traces of wildlife and exploring the remains of historic trapping huts and early whaling activity — quiet evidence of how humans once survived in this harsh environment. This episode captures the moment when Arctic sailing stops being theoretical and becomes lived experience: cold, remote, beautiful, and unforgiving. From offshore seamanship and ice navigation to first landfall on Spitsbergen, this is expedition sailing at the edge of the navigable world. ⛵ Expedition Svalbard is a real-world sailing documentary about high-latitude sailing, ice navigation, polar bear awareness and respectful exploration of the Arctic. For the data behind the video check out the link below: https://bit.ly/3TRfIib Well, we've hit the end of the year, and we're getting rocking and rolling into 2026. I wanted to share a quick video on the current state of the catamaran market and how those trends compare to the year before. 2025 was definitely a VERY interesting year, and we definitely saw pricing coming down for buyers. It will be interesting to see how the trend continues into 2026. I suspect we'll see a modest increase in sales price, a reduction in time on market, and less inventory. From the conversations I've had with buyers who have contracted boats in the last 30-45 days, we're definitely seeing a more positive buying mood due to interest rates coming down, and the US stock markets at all-time highs. Only time will tell. If you would like for us to generate a custom market report for a catamaran you are interested in buying, or if you own a catamaran and curious about the value of your boat don't heistiate to reach out. Sailing in the Caribbean – meaning the Lesser Antilles – involves a considerable amount of organizational effort in some cases, as clearing customs and immigration is always required when moving between islands. This is because many of the islands are independent states or at least separate territories with their own administrative and customs systems. To my knowledge, there are currently five different procedures in the Lesser Antilles, which are applied depending on the state or territory. These range from fully digital solutions and hybrid systems to classic paper-based processes and, in most cases, personal visits to the authorities. Many sailors find the first steps in the French system particularly challenging, as it uses its own procedures, terminology, and, in some cases, special links that are not easily accessible or difficult to find. To make matters worse, some screens have only been partially translated into English. I hope this video has provided some initial guidance and helped some people to use the various systems. The video does not claim to be exhaustive, nor can it be adapted to situations that are sometimes subject to change. It is based on my knowledge of the past few years up to 2026.

This is a summary or main video of Shaima's 1800 nautical mile adventure from Ushuahia, Argentina to the Antarctic Peninsula and back in January 2026. Antarctica has always been a major goal for me as skipper and owner and my sailing yacht Shaima. It has been an effort 4 years in the planning, full of challenges and highly inspiring. This video reflects mainly on how the crew lived and got inspired by the adventure, coupled with magnificent photography geared to help the viewers capture in their hearts and minds the magnificence and uniqueness of Antarctica.
