It's super light, slides in and out of the boat easily, it's away from any water and it's modular so anything can be quickly connected or disconnected up to it. We sailed out to Eddy Reef, just off Dunk Island, to take advantage of a patch of good weather and explore another part of the Great Barrier Reef. With vibrant coral, plenty of fish, and even a friendly turtle to swim alongside, it turned into one of our most memorable snorkels yet. From there, we dropped anchor at Kent Island – a tiny coral island with stunning views and a sunset that lit up the whole sky. Next stop: Mourilyan Harbour, where we’ll sit out a few fairly hectic rainy, windy days before making our way north to Cairns. The trek north continues. Thanks for watching. Life at anchor outside Luperón Harbour isn’t always calm… We’re making water with our watermaker, tackling boat projects (with Coral and Kai actually helping this time!), and enjoying cruiser life — from the New Amsterdam cruisers show to the kids playing in the central parque. We spend extra money to make sure our mooring ball is extra solid for hurricane season. Then Hurricane Erin, a Category 5 storm, passes nearby… and just when we think we’re in the clear, we’re jolted awake by sirens in the middle of the night. A massive catamaran in the harbour was struck by lightning — and fully engulfed in flames. Filmed August 2025. Using the 77m Golden Yachts MALIA as a real-world example, we look at how a base charter rate of €750,000 per week can quickly become around €1.2 million once you factor in the additional costs that come with a fully bespoke experience. We explain the key elements that shape the final price, including the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), VAT, and crew gratuities, as well as the operational costs that many people do not fully understand.
