The doldrums is a low-pressure area around the equator where the prevailing winds are calm, Sprindrift is approaching it fast now andd they will be in the aera in less than 24hours. To undertake the crewed around-the-world record is as much about the human adventure as it is a technical and sporting challenge. The men and women working alongside Dona Bertarelli and Yann Guichard at Spindrift racing have been preparing this race against the clock for almost three years. The target: to sail around the world in less than 45 days, 13 hours and 42 minutes. The tough record they will try to beat was set by Loïck Peyron and his crew in 2012 on Banque Populaire V, which was renamed Spindrift 2 a year later. The French-Swiss team decided to use the same 40 m trimaran because they believed that the boat could be further optimised, a task that sailors, engineers and technicians at the team have been working on ever since. After countless hours of work at the boatyard and 40,000 nautical miles of racing and training, the Spindrift racing-prepared trimaran is all set to go. The team will officially go on stand-by on October 19th and wait for the ideal weather window. Since then, the “TPR” has become the biggest sailing and festive regatta of the Pacific islands and a truly international nautical event. am 25. Juli 2025 motorten wir gegen hohe Wellen und 30 kn Wind Richtung Samos. Eine ursprünglich angepeilte Bucht verwerfen wir und reservierten einen Platz in der Marina Marathompos. Sie kostet zwar 30 Euro pro Nacht aber das war es mir bei den angesagten Winden wert. Als Zuckerl bekamen wir einen Hochdruckreiniger und reinigten das Schiff mal richtig ;) Wir genossen die Tage in Mathokampos und gingen oft baden und 2 mal essen. 22,7 sm Am 27.07.25 segelten wir in die hochgelobte Bucht Poseidonio. Sie ist wirklich von den Farben wunderschön aber auch völlig überfüllt. 21,5 sm Da Südwind angesagt war, nutzten wir die Gelegenheit und segelten in den Norden. Wir bekamen einen Platz an dem Anleger in Kokkari Hafen und weil es uns so gut gefiel, blieben wir auch da 2 Tage. Er kostete nichts. Es waren wieder einige Tage Meltemi angesagt. Ich wäre am liebsten in Kokkari geblieben. 14,2 sm Am 30.07.25 segelten wir weiter an die Nord/West - Küste in die tolle Bucht Seitani. Auf dem Weg dort hin begleiteten uns 2 Delfine. Die Bucht war echt traumhaft schön aber leider kamen Abends hohe Wellen in die Bucht. Wir hatten eine schlaflose Nacht und legten am nächsten Morgen direkt ab nach Ikaria. Auch dorthin konnten wir größtenteils segeln. 14,3 sm Halbzeit mit 714 sm, davon 324 gesegelt Viel Spaß beim Ansehen. Die Videos sind für Familie, Freunde und Interessierte. This week we spend a bit of time as a family off the boat and in the camper. We had a great time. Swab and I got back into the routine of having our Saturday morning date day. We went to Starbucks in downtown Fort Myers. While having our coffee, Swab asked if she could go to "City Hall." I know, right? Where does she get this stuff? But I took her to the downtown court building, and we found an enormous banyan tree. We played around in that for a little while. Then we returned and spent some time at the pool and game room with the girls later that day. I relaxed with some good coffee, and as you all know, I like my coffee.
