With Bonita now 9 months pregnant, it is time to move closer to the hospital to have the baby. Bonita has rarely seen the progress of Yosh's labour, but it is time to reveal what Nandji looks like. Nothing else matters but the boss's opinion. Hopefully she likes it!!! With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off from Australia sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! We were on our shake down sail when the mooring we were on failed and our home ended up on the reef... We saved the old girl and got her back to the boat yard for repairs to continue on our adventure! Ready to sail across the Indian Ocean, we were only days away from leaving when the pandemic begun closing countries around us... We are stuck for now, but enjoying the slower pace as we have just had our first baby, born in Malaysia! Now completing our second major refit, Nandji is ready for the world when the world is ready for us!!! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm offshore. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it! This is the final DAILY video installment of our 1,500 nautical mile journey south from Hampton, Virginia to Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. Unfortunately the final night saw us sailing into a Tropical Wave that brought lightning filled squalls, the biggest of which we sailed into right as we arrived near Tortola. ABOUT EACH OF US: SETH learned to sail with his family on Lake St. Clair, Michigan when he was 12. Later in life he raced on multiple one-design boats in the San Francisco Bay and in Cape Cod. But the dream of sailing around the world really took hold during a bareboat vacation to the BVIs with his family when he saw other cruisers living and traveling full time aboard their sailboats. All he needed now was a willing partner and co-captain! In 2008, Seth & Elizabeth got married and for their honeymoon they bought a boat, named her "Honeymoon" and the rest is history! ELIZABETH was new to sailing when they started off, but she's always loved to travel. 25,000 nautical miles later she is now an accomplished sailor, and despite being prone to seasickness, she values the experiences she can share with her boys. During their first trip she came up with the idea of Vacay, a resort-wear clothing brand perfect for sailors as all her items are designed to mix-and-match to create multiple looks. 5 items can create up to 15 outfits! OUR BOYS were a little reluctant to leave our home in Mill Valley, CA, but now that we are in the groove we plan to keep going. They miss their friends but also appreciate the life experiences they are gaining. Hale loves baseball, Rhys is our Lego engineer and Pierce's nickname is "Pierce-Fierce" (as we think he's been raised by wolves). They're great kids and best friends, which makes living on a boat with them a true joy. OUR BOAT is a Ferrari red 2014 Outremer 51 performance cruising catamaran. We chose this boat as it has been specifically designed for the purpose of bluewater sailing. It was designed and built to withstand the stress of sailing multiple times around the world safely and in comfort. It's also a speed demon, which is important when you want to cover large distances of water before the weather changes. Lastly, it's backed by the manufacturer with outstanding customer service and aftermarket support, so we believe she will hold her value well. And, she's nice on the eyes too. OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and then on to the Panama Canal.  At the time of posting this we are dealing with a repair in the South Pacific, and in 2020 we hope to be in New Zealand and Southeast Asia. By 2021 we will be in the Med and close to completing our circumnavigation. Moin Freunde! Winter is coming... Und es ist an der Zeit, die 7seas darauf vorzubereiten. Sie liegt ja nun seit über einem Jahr im Wasser, nachdem wir CopperCoat auf's Unterwasserschiff aufgetragen haben. Wir wollen die Möglichkeit haben, auch im Winter einfach spontan auf unserem Segelboot zu sein, wenn das Wetter es zulässt auch mal zu segeln und ansonsten die Ruhe in unserem wunderschönen Hafen in Peenemünde zu genießen. Deshalb liegt die 7seas auch über Winter im Wasser und nicht aufgebockt an Land. Nur müssen wir natürlich ein paar Vorkehrungen treffen, damit sie die kalte Jahreszeit auch gut übersteht. Darum kümmern wir uns in diesem Video. Wir sind in Peenemünde und arbeiten für zwei Tage unsere To-Do-Liste ab. Sogar mit dem ersten Schnee an Bord ;) Schöne und entspannte Weihnachten zusammen!
