Lago di Garda was not making it easy for race officials on day two of the GC32 Riva Cup, the penultimate event of the 2019 GC32 Racing Tour. The afternoon southerly Ora wind was late materialising and required three changes of race course and a frustrating two hour wait before the wind finally blasted in at 15+ knots some four kilometres south of Riva del Garda. After this three races with reaching starts were eventually held, the wind progressively dropping off as the afternoon wore on and holes in the race course began to appear close to the leeward gate and the boats were returned to the Fraglia Vela Riva marina. “Friday 13th” they muttered by way of explanation, but in Italy 13 is not unlucky.

Undisputed winner of the day was Zoulou, which, with French ace Gurvan Bontemps standing in on the helm for owner-driver Erik Maris (who arrives tonight and will take over tomorrow), put in a 1-2-2-2-1 scoreline, that was impressively consistent given the sea state and gusty conditions.

Continued hallucinations and feeling exhausted can barely stand falling asleep talking to Rhomé, this is all new to her travelling and especially in this way and I have to teach her an off-grid sailing lifestyle, she does extremely well in support for me and the Pantera incredible crew. I got my first 52 blue water nautical miles under my belt sailing from Halifax, NS to Lunenburg, NS, Was it fun ??? "Yes" and "No" ? "Yes" because you have to start somewhere, and I did, and "No" because I got seasick and was not in a condition to continue filming. I was told that hopefully this would go away with experience and I intend to keep going no matter what ... We left our Horseshoe Island Park anchorage, NS at 8:00 in the morning on August 17, 2020 and we arrived to Lunenburg harbour at 3 o'clock at night next day. It took us 18 hours of sailing ( the weather was not 100% cooperative) the distance that you would cover by car in an hour... Regardless sailing is better then sex (smile) !!! ===================== ABOUT ME Back in 2019 I decided I did not want to be a 9 to 5 type guy anymore. I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. ==================================== Ничего вам не продаю. Ничего у Bас не покупаю. Снимаю для души и от души! I'm not selling you anything. I am not buying anything from you either. I shoot video for the soul and from the heart! No te vendo nada. No te compro nada. ¡Grabo un video para mi corazón y mi alma!

#whitsundayislands #queensland #boattours #sailingcharter From Airlie Beach to the Whitsunday Islands with Wings Catamarans. Sail aboard our stable and spacious vessel and head to Whitehaven Beach. Whitehaven Beach, located on the largest island, Whitsunday Island, lies within the Great Barrier Reef National Marine Park and is a protected world heritage site. Wings Sailing Charters stagger the best timings, so you have plenty of room with over 7 kilometres of pure white sand stretching along the island. There are two parts to Whitehaven Beach, often referred to as the northern end and southern end. Wings Sailing Charters take guests to both end of Whitehaven Beach. What is the difference between the Northern and Southern end? 👉🏻 NORTHERN WHITEHAVEN When you hear the name Whitehaven Beach, the first image to pop to mind will likely be the swirling turquoise waters and varied shades of white sand of the famous Hill Inlet Lookout. This is the money shot. Wings Sailing Charters with its permits, anchor at Tongue Bay to access Whitsunday Island by beach drop offs with a smaller inflatable motorboat. From there, the crew will take you for a short 20 minute bush walk to the lookout, with 3 separate viewing platforms to get that perfect photo. Be sure to stop and smell the roses on the bush walk, as there is plenty to see. Butterflies, green ants nests, golden orb spiders, goanna and bush turkeys make up some of the residents of Whitsunday Island, and you will find many more treasures in the lush tropical island rainforest. From here, access to the smoothest and whitest silica sand in the world. Play in the water and search for baby lemon sharks and stingrays in the protected inlet, look also for the stunning large tree stump (perfect ‘gram spot) and discover the exclusive Betty’s Beach cove. 👉🏻 SOUTHERN WHITEHAVEN South Whitehaven beach is certainly not without its charms. Step onto the 7 km long powdery white beach. Watch out for the squeaky sounds when you walk as the sand is so fine! Also for the adventurous, there are two bush walks available, one loop circuit and one ending at Chance bay on the other side of the island. If you are short in time, we recommend you to do the short circuit and enjoy the Southern end Whitehaven Beach lookout giving you a fantastic view in the beach. Horrific flooding from 2 days prior left our primary shore diving spot in pretty bad shape. The dive community rallied like we always do to remove 4 truck loads of mulch and logs, 2 garbage bags full of trash, and countless golf balls. We feel so blessed to be a part of such an awesome dive community! Kauai Strong!

Snorkeling trip out to Shark Ray Alley in Belize. Lots of Rays and Nurse Sharks. Decent visibility though the sky was overcast a bit. Definitely recommend heading out there if you are on a Belize diving trip. A good combination is Hol Chan scuba dive in the morning and Shark Ray Alley snorkeling on the way back to shore. Beautiful place in the Caribbean sea. Shot with a GoPro Hero9 and edited (still learning) with Adobe Premiere Pro
As part of the 2021 alumni annual meeting for MIT, I, along with a few other volunteers, assembled a geiger counter from scratch (ish). Here's a quick timelapse of the assembly, and a test after completion. Uh... probably don't try this at home.
Stayed @ Avalon Eco Resort-Hiked The Crack, Lake of The Woods & Chikanishing Trail-Fished Tyson Lake
We spent the weekend at Avalon Eco Resort, an off the grid, rustic, solar powered cabin. We loved hiking The Crack, the view from the top of Killarney Ridge is absolutely stunning. The immense white cliffs of the La Cloche Mountains surround you as you ascend through the cascade of huge tumbled boulders of what is known as "The Crack”. Once you reach the top of the ridge, you’ll be treated to beautiful panoramic vistas on all sides – certainly one of the best views in the park! We also hiked Lake of The Woods Trail, this loop trail encircles Lake of the Woods, traveling through a variety of forest types, from old growth stands to elevated rocky outcrops. These outcrops offer excellent views of Silver Peak, six kilometres to the west and Lake of the Woods below. At one point, the trail descends to the lakeshore where a short boardwalk connects to the lake’s only island. Finally we hiked Chikanishing Trail, this trail winds along the park’s southern boundary and crosses a series of small ridges and then ending at a wave-washed point on Georgian Bay. Vegetation is typical of the rocky, windswept terrain of Georgian Bay, though taller pine and oak have flourished in wind-sheltered spots where soil has accumulated. Old iron rings used for mooring lines during logging days can still be seen along the trail. Interpretive plaques tell the colourful history of this part of Georgian Bay. We then visited the Killarney East Lighthouse and took our boat out on Tyson Lake for some sunset fishing where we saw a beautiful rainbow!

Are you ready to take your sailboat out for its first trip of the season? It's important to properly commission your boat to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. In this video, we'll walk you through the steps of commissioning your mast. The mast is crucial to the safety and operation of any sailboat. Ted Weyhrauch from Innovative Marine is in charge of this critical component. He is responsible for setting up all the equipment that will go on the mast such has TV Antenna, Dissipator, Wind Vane, and specialized equipment such as Radar, SSB, VHF, cellular antenna, etc. Another critical component of the mast is setting up the spreaders, shrouds, stays and installing tracks for the spinnaker pole. All of this and the associated wiring that goes with it, has to be run and staged so it can run into the boat as the mast is step. This is critical as some of the wiring in question is high frequency as Ted has to setup a complete run from the top of the mast to the panel where the equipment will be connected to, making the measuring and setup process critical. So you will see how much has to be planned and setup before your sailing yacht is ready for its first sail. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more helpful tips and tricks for all your boating needs. ### Thank you for watching and happy sailing! ###
