Petits airs et grand soleil ont dominé cette première journée de la 27ème édition des Voiles de Saint-Tropez, ce qui a permis à la direction de course de la Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, bien inspirée, d’enchaîner les cinq départs des Modernes en trente minutes chrono ! La brise un peu plus soutenue du côté de Pampelonne assurait un joli spectacle chez les Maxis 1 et Maxis GP qui ont pu disputer un parcours construit alors que les autres classes partaient sur un parcours côtier en direction de Cavalaire. Demain, c’est le grand jour pour les voiliers de Tradition qui se dégourdissaient les voiles dans le golfe pour le plus grand plaisir des spectateurs.

It's no secret we love hiking the Trinidad jungle but in one of our recent adventures we came across a creature that we hadn't seen in person yet - the world's biggest centipede! According to all the guys Trent sent pictures too, it's awesome, so in this short clip we decided to share it with the rest of you! As I've now discovered, the biggest centipede in the world is the Amazonian Giant Centipede (Scolopendra gigantea), which can grow over 30 centimeters (12 inches). It's found in South America and the Caribbean, including right here in Trinidad & Tobago. We’re tired, but we’re committed, and in this video, we’re giving you a full walkthrough of where we’re at. In this episode: America’s Cup Salvage: We grabbed carbon nomex panels and massive carbon sail battens from an AC catamaran Alinghi 5 that was being demolished. Will it look cool or just warped?! Structural Stiffening: See how we used a carbon batten to fix a flexy spot on the cabin roof and prevent hard points. Interior Demolition & Reconstruction: We’ve ripped out the old liner and are rebuilding the galley, companionway steps, and a MASSIVE new pantry. Upcycled Lockers: Harry is building out his cabin with lockers from the Volvo Ocean Race boat, Trifork/Ericcson 4. Aft Cabin & Shower: The shower/toilet area is finally taking shape! We’re fitting a carbon sink we’ve been saving for years and building a custom floor. Smart Plumbing: We’re installing a gravity-fed black water system to minimize pumps and complexity. Plus new hatches, stanchions etc. We’re getting there! From the "oh sh#t" phase to the "okay, we’re getting there" phase, I definitely think there is a bit of crazy here on Paikea. In this episode of our Arctic sailing adventure, we continue through the spectacular islands of Vesterålen in Northern Norway aboard our sailing vessel Polaris. With light winds on the nose, we motor from Stø towards Skipnes, passing quiet harbours, rugged mountains and late-season coastal landscapes. In Skipnes, the main season is already over. The harbour is calm, the hotel seems closed, but we still find a cold beer and a perfect end to a sunny day. The next morning, we leave Polaris behind and walk towards Tinden, an old fishing village and trading post. What looks like a short and easy hike turns into a wet, swampy trail, even after a long dry spell. Tinden itself feels almost deserted out of season, but the smell of fresh paint shows that someone is still caring for this historic place. From there we continue to Skårvågen. The following morning brings thick fog over the harbour and coast, making navigation through the rock-strewn waters unappealing. Instead, we hike up Skårvågfjellet, 403 metres above sea level, rising above the fog into blue sky. As the weather changes and time runs short, we adjust our plans, leave the idea of Trollfjord behind, and set a shorter course towards Sortland.
