With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! We were on our shake down sail when the mooring we were on failed and our home ended up on the reef... We saved the old girl and got her back to the boat yard for repairs to continue on our adventure! Ready to sail across the Indian Ocean, we were only days away from leaving when the pandemic begun closing countries around us... We are stuck for now, but enjoying the slower pace as we have just had our first baby, born in Malaysia! I spent a good year refitting it, mostly by myself and with the help of awesome friends, and then (mostly) solo sailed my sailboat around the western Caribbean. In 2016, I crossed the Panama Canal, had a major engine break down, a near sinking experience and a serious foot injury which got me stuck along the Pacific coast of Central and South America. In this Episode, Karl finally gets to spread his wings again and we are having the most beautiful day out on the water. A perfect daysail with great wind and weather. SOLD! Congratulations and safe travels to the new owners. The Diesel Duck 382 is an incredibly capable trawler. Built out of steel by Seahorse Marine in China, this George Buehler design is the smallest in the ocean series, but just as mighty as her bigger sisters. (The Coot is smaller, but doesn’t have the same range or profile). Jubilee is seaworthy, livable and affordable. If Jubilee looks familiar, she is. JMYS created an original video that was released in 2017 and has hundreds of thousands of views and many thumbs up. At the time we signed our current listing agreement, Jubilee was placed into winter storage (in a covered, heated building). Eager to get the word out we had a dilemma to overcome – how can we talk about her without getting aboard to show her off? Not wanting to wait for spring to make a presentation video, Jeff came up with the idea to try something different. Quality unused footage from the original film was spliced together to create a fresh look for Jubilee. In this film, Jeff talks about Jubilee specifically and Diesel Ducks in general. The camera focuses on the boat and shows off much of what she has to offer. Unlike our popular “Talk Through Tour” videos, this is a “Talk View Tour” – a voice-over production that lets Jeff have a one-way conversation sharing not only about what Jubilee is all about, but also touching on the men behind the project; George Buehler the designer, and the builder, Bill Kimley of Seahorse Marine. Interested trawler buyers are desperate to learn more about this quirky looking design and seem to become more infatuated the more they learn. This is brand that grows on you and be careful, too many views and you may become converted! Jubilee is a sail assisted trawler powered by a John Deere 4045 85 horsepower diesel engine. She holds 1,720 gallons of fuel and at passage cruising speeds of 6.3 knots provides trans-oceanic range with fuel to spare. She has been maintained in excellent condition, lightly used and we truly believe the video, though dated, provides an appropriate representation of how she looks today. Sailing through Thailand's beautiful Islands, we explore caves, tunnels and manage to find some quiet anchorages in this notoriously busy holiday area. Paddling through a 60m long pitch black tunnel to emerge in to an emerald bay open only to the sky at Ko Mook was just one of the highlights. These islands have played host to a number of films such as James Bond and The Beach. We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfil our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. Check out the Tessie's new enhanced vision as Raymarine let me test their FLIR M300C low light and 30 x zoom camera. This is a big lift for my singlehanded navigation. The camera sits 4 meter up the mast on its Scanstrut support bracket, and is connected to my 3 x Axiom chartplotters. The camera is gyro stabilised, meaning keep the camera lens still while the boat is moving around in the waves. It is able to keep a clear vision, even in very low light conditions. A 30 x zoom lets me see obsticles, ships and other objects far away to chart the surroundings while navigating. This will be a very cntral part when closing into the ice of Greenland in a few weeks. I also hope to detect polarbears and whales as I enter the icy, cold coast. Getting prepared for departure in just a few days now! DENİZDE DOLU FIRTINASI. YOK BÖYLE HAVA. Necochea'da krallar gibi ağırlandık. Sis yüzünden limanın kapanmasını avantaja çevirip Vito Dumas Yat Kulüp'de asado partisinin keyfini sürdük. Bir gün daha sis kalkmayınca hava değişti ve çıkışımızı hafta sonuna kadar erteledik. Hava durumuna bakarsan havanın süt liman olması gerekiyordu ama burası kükreyen kırklar, her türlü süprize açık olmak lazım. Deniz aslanlarının şovuyla limandan ayrıldıktan sonra ilk gün hava yatıktı. Biz zaten genel olarak havanın yatık olmasını beklediğimiz için code zero döşemiştik. İttire ittire geceyi geçirdik. Ertesi gün hava aniden yön değiştirdi. Aniden derken gerçekten, kelimenin tam anlamı ile aniden diyorum. Baktık enteresan olaylar oluyor Code Zero'yu komple söküp kaldırdık. Enteresan bir durum var demeye kalmadan akşam hava sertledi. Daha 40 derece enlemine gelmeden hava 40'a dayandı. Gecenin bombası da yakamozlar içinde torpil gibi tekneyle beraber yüzen yunuslardı. İlk önce ne olduğunu bile anlayamadık. Sonra sonra fark ettik. Hatta çok dikkatli seyrederseniz tam şimşek çakan anda videoda yunusun sırtını görebilirsiniz. Sabah havada hiç bir sakinleşme yoktu. Hava 50 knot'a dayandı. Tekne bana mısın demiyor. Muhteşem bir performansı var. Biz yine de işimizi riske atmadık. Bir ara ana yelken 2. camadan, cenova kapalı yol yaptık. Belki de çok iyi yapmışız zira yol arkadaşımız Bestevaer 60 knot'ın üzerinde sağanaklarda yelkenini parçalamış. Neden sonra hava iyice dengesizleşti. Yarım saat arayla 40 knot rüzgar, rüzgarsızlık, motor seyri, 10 knot rüzgar ve tekrar 40 knot rüzgar ve tekrar motor seyri. Biz de artık şapşal olduk. Kazasız belasız gece yarısını biraz geçe Puerto Madryn'e ulaşıp güneyindeki, ertesi gün gelecek olan güney rüzgarına kapalı koyuna demiri bıraktık.
