Mesmo sem máquina, removida para reparos... resolvi sair da frente do Iate Clube Belém e rumei para a Ilha Cotijuba. As margens do Rio Pará. Lembrando que este Rio, margeia a Ilha de Marajo pelo lado leste. Programando chegar ainda com luz do dia, velejar pela orla da cidade, com grande tráfego fluvial...navios, ferrybolts, balsas é grande quantidade de pequenas embarcações, cruzam sua proa a todo instante.., sai ainda com a maré vazando 3/4 para o final. Ruim que o vento que soprava de E na casa de 10 nós, ainda na ancoragem na praia do farol, minha preferida...e por ser domingo, com bom movimento. Com uma lancha fundiada, pouco mais de seis metros, no bombordo...tive de redobrar os cuidados para não derivar para cima dela, qd a âncora desprendesse do fundo arenoso.. ainda mais sem máquina e obviamente, sem guincho elétrico. No braço mesmo tirei os quarentas metros de corrente, jogados na profundidade de 4 m! Vento entrando pela popa, levava o barco para cima da corrente.. então coloquei na água, um pneu, que trazia sempre para criar arrasto e minimizar o problema. Intenção coroada de êxito, pois quando passei a correte no cunho, concluindo a operação... o manteve-se na mesma posição, sem derivar. Com isto, fui tranquilo até a roda de leme e guinei-a para boreste. O que fez o barco se afastar da praia. Claro que tirei o pneu da água antes disto. Maré contrária e pouco vento.. me fez bordejar pelo canal de Cotijuba, que dá acesso ao Rio Guajará Açu... o que margeia a orla de Belém, área nobre do Porto, estação das docas e Ver-o-peso. Em média vencia a corrente contrária à 2.5 e 3 nós. Previsões para tempestade foram aparecendo na medida que contornava Belém. Desabou um dos maiores CBs que escureceu tudo. Forçando o Pedal, todo rizaso, derivar muito para o meio do rio. Momentos de difícil controle, ainda mais com o gps para de funcionar, na hora em que ouve uma descargas elétrica, nas imediações. Como tenho outros de reserva, coloquei o segundo em ação. Ao rumar na segurança para o Rio Guamá, vento reduziu ainda mais... mas já com a maré, agora favorável, fui derivando até próximo o fundeio. Não antes de ficar preocupado com a balsa que preparava para sair para Barcarena.., quando, derivando... mesmo com velame em cima, passei suavemente pela popa do empurrador. Ufa Fundiei 1/10 de milha longe do iate... Hj qd a maré quase parando de esvaziar, levante o ferro e deixei o Pedal, derivando, aproximar para novo fundeio, agora local habitual! Bvs

Our passion is Sailing and the Sea, we bought Royal Atenea with the intention to start cruising around the world after spending all our lives working hard at sea. After we bought this beauty we found that it needed some love and care as it was abandoned by the previous owners so we are taking our time to bring her back to life. Eventually around the world trip will commence when the boat is fully upgraded for crossing the oceans and other continents. We are also working on the Electric Conversion of the first Jongert. About the Boat ''SY ROYAL ATENEA'' was built in Holland in 1973. Her original name was ''Antares''.She is a Jongert Trewes Design with 5mm Steel Hull and rigged as a Ketch with Aluminium Masts. Her LOA is 19.3m and she has a beam of 4.6m with a draft of 2.98m She weighs 33t and she can cruise at 7 kts with the engine and 8-10 kts on sail depending on the wind. She is fairly comfortable with 15 to 20 kts of wind. Freshwater capacity to last over 2 weeks and a fuel range of 13 days steaming. About the Boat ''SY Red Current'' is a Southerly 31 with the construction of GRP and rigged as a sloop with Aluminium Mast. Her LOA is 31 feet and she has a beam of 10 feet with a draft of 7 feet. She also has an electric swing keel which makes her draft very shallow and easy to enter in shallow water. On our TransAt from St John’s, Newfoundland, we made landfall after 9 days on Flores, the westernmost island of the Azores. We had been informed by Porto Azores that the marina was closed as it was badly damaged by the 2019 Hurricane Lorenzo. To visit marina Flores one most have calm weather as a big surge can set into marina. hence, Flores is very seldom possible to visit by yachts. The weather was perfect, when we reach Flores, so we decided to see. If we could find a berth or anchor. We managed to find a space , we rafted up on SY Julia from Holland. Flores is wonderful and we spend the next 3 days exploring the local cuisine and the island - the ice cream at the marina bar is amazing. #adventuresailing #saga47swan #offshoresailing #adventure #hurricane #azores #saga47swan_sailing

We get branded in this video. Well, we brand ourselves by sticking on our Sailing Empress logo onto the bow of our Contest 36. We put the name on the transom including our port of call, Haarlem. We discover the rusty state of our anchor chain and find it really does need replacing. Catran gets lots of jobs done such as installing the AIS transceiver and the antenna for the AIS as well, of course as the Big VHF and GPS. Now we can see ourselves on the map! Catran gets serious about epoxy and reinforces the mount for the Raymarine autopilot, as well as the Vetus tiller arm. Catran puts some finishing touches on the solar panels, as to stop them banging on the boat. You can see our shiny new oven and induction cooktop and Michelle gets busy in the kitchen to discover their ability to reach souring temperatures, all powered by the sun! If you have any questions about the solar panel installation or the oven and stovetop installation, we have lots more footage of this and are happy to bring out another video on how we did this, just leave it in the comments section.

Welcome to the Royal Western Yacht Club’s Triangle Race - quite possibly our favourite event of the year. Why? Because it kicks off the season with a brilliant cocktail of unpredictable sailing and even more unpredictable socialising between the coastal legs: Plymouth – Falmouth – Fowey – Plymouth. Throw in the MOCRA Nationals and a fast (and slow)-paced day of round-the-cans racing in Plymouth Sound, and you’ve got something properly special. This one’s for the multihull lovers. It’s a visual feast of boats in all shapes, sizes, wind speeds and angles, and a range of sea states. Of the 15 boats racing, eight (including six Dazcats) are signed up for the 2025 RORC Fastnet. Add the two Dazcats who missed this race (because they were RORC racing), and Multihull Centre boats are making up half of this year’s Fastnet MOCRA fleet. And that really is quite something! Filming comes from on board D10 Belladonna, where Dazcat Media is learning the art of media production on a smaller, livelier platform - and with just three crew, media time is often an unaffordable luxury. Just as there’s a great shot coming up, a sail needs trimming or a tack or gybe has to be put in, so it’s with huge thanks to D1495 Hissy Fit for stepping up with extra footage. Once again CNB has been working with Philippe Briand and Jean-Marc Piaton, this time to create a yacht which can be sailed in comfort by a couple. The result is the CNB 62, she builds on the success of the CNB Bordeaux 60 of which 46 were built. The CNB DNA remains but has evolved very significantly. Great thought has been given to making the cockpit and sailing systems even better suited to safe and rewarding short-handed sailing. An arch with a German main keeps the cockpit clear whilst still enabling proper control of the mainsail. The helm positions are forward enough to greatly help protection from the elements and to ensure a close connection with guests in the cockpit area. The deck area behind the helms provides another large relaxation area and below the cockpit floor, Briand has created enough volume for a 2,85 metre RIB to be stored longitudinally for ease of launching and recovery. Of course, the garage door creates a spacious bathing platform. The very comfortable owner’s suite is located forward with a centre-line bed and a generous bathroom. The saloon is bathed in natural light and has a superb galley which works equally well in harbour or on passage. The saloon enjoys almost 360-degree visibility and offers a seamless connection to the environment. Guest accommodation lies aft, the two cabins can be configured as doubles or twins and each has its own en-suite bathroom. Sailing performance is a given. A range of generous rigs is available with options for furling and easy handling whilst still getting the best from the modern Briand hull design. Machinery is centrally located under the saloon to ensure good weight distribution and excellent noise insulation. Quality and execution are outstanding. Quando usarli e come mantenerli efficienti** In questo video parliamo dei **motori ausiliari per barche a vela e motore**, in particolare per le imbarcazioni sotto i 10 metri. Scopri quando è davvero utile averne uno a bordo, come utilizzarlo correttamente e soprattutto perché la manutenzione è fondamentale per non trovarsi nei guai in mare aperto. --- ### Quando si usano i motori ausiliari? I **motori ausiliari per barche** si utilizzano principalmente quando il **motore principale non funziona**. Sono fondamentali per garantire una propulsione alternativa, ad esempio per rientrare in porto in sicurezza. Sulle barche sotto i 10 metri, il motore ausiliario è quasi sempre un **fuoribordo**, spesso stivato in un gavone e montato all’occorrenza. ### Come si utilizzano? Il funzionamento è semplice: si prende il motore fuoribordo dal suo alloggiamento, lo si installa all’esterno, lo si accende e si usa per spostare la barca dove necessario. Tuttavia, è importante sottolineare che **averlo non basta**: un motore ausiliario inutilizzato da anni difficilmente si avvierà quando ne avrai bisogno. ### Motore ausiliario sì o no? Qui si apre una questione importante. Se possiedi un **motore ausiliario**, devi mantenerlo in perfetta efficienza, **esattamente come il motore principale**. Molti armatori, infatti, se ne dimenticano: il motore rimane chiuso in un gavone per anni, senza mai essere acceso. Risultato? **Carburatori e iniettori danneggiati**, e motore inutilizzabile proprio nel momento del bisogno. ### Alternative valide Se non intendi occuparti della manutenzione del motore ausiliario, forse è meglio **evitare l’acquisto**. In alternativa, porta con te un **VHF portatile** sempre funzionante: in caso di emergenza puoi contattare i soccorsi e, se necessario, farti trainare. Il costo di un rimorchio può essere inferiore rispetto a quello di un motore ausiliario inutilizzato e mal mantenuto. ### Ma attenzione... Se navighi in **zone isolate**, dove i soccorsi non sono immediati, allora **il motore ausiliario può fare la differenza**.
