We sail back to Gillingham from Ramsgate with sore heads, while making a pot noodle at a 30 degree angle and sampling Sharp's Sea Fury beer. Before all that we check out the Ramsgate Wetherspoons for a bit of breakfast and only then do we check out of the marina via Port Control. It's a long beat back with a lot of tacking to keep us busy. Upwind sporty sailing all the way home. We sail down Craignish loch and pass into Jura Sound, where we pass by the notorious Gulf of Corryvreckan which forms whirlpools and standing waves. Luckily for us it was a calm day as the standing waves can reach up to 9m high. We moor up in the friendly Croabh Haven marina and spend some time exploring. The highlight was Alan's birthday and enjoying the squat lobsters, a catch that is normally thrown back! The small cafe on the island by the marina is a real find and we recommend you check them out, Croabh Haven Watersports Cafe, they have a water sports centre too for the adventurous. We started the week off by going to church with our awesome friends. We've made so many memories together along the way. After spending the evening and having a movie night we had to say goodbye to them the next day. They travelled further north and we had to travel south. After arriving at the marina in the south we finally got our new and improved sails back on the boat plus we were able to get a ton of work done, including new solar panels. After having a relaxed evening on the beach with our friends over there we decided to go scuba diving the next day. It was AMAZING! 😍 The shallow blue water with beautiful corals and fish was perfect! We had so much fun. The next day we said goodbye to our wonderful French friends and started sailing to St Lucia. We couldn't spend much time there as we had to go further down, but it was a beautiful island! It's so sad to hear that there is a risky side when travelling to these areas. So please be safe out there! Few hours of sailing and a lot of fishing later we finally arrived at St Vincent and the Grenadines. To the south of the island there's a small rock called Young Island. We pulled in from the sound so right after arriving we decided to climb that rock and see the view. St Vincent is a super pretty island. We can't wait to explore it!! Thank you for watching. With light winds being forecast for the final day of the Pallas Capital TP52 Gold Cup | Act 4 at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club on Sydney’s Pittwater, the Race Committee made the decision to hold the event in-shore on Towler’s Bay. Five boats competed in the light conditions with four races on day 1 leaving only 2 races for the final day when the wind was forecast to drop out. The Act 4 winning boat was Seb Bohm’s Smuggler which beat David Doherty’s Matador which had won the previous 3 Acts. The overall series winner in both TPR & IRC was Matador, which also won last year’s series. The prizegiving & celebrations at the RPAYC wrap up a successful 2023 event; Craig Neil from the TP52 Aus organising committee confirmed that the series would be back, bigger and better next year.
