After months of speculation as to what the next wave of America's Cup boats would look like, we now know as all three Challengers have wheeled their latest creations into the open. Matt Sheahan takes a close look at what characterises each of the new boats. PS. Apologies for say that the Antonov is Russian, of course it's Ukranian - sorry all!

There has been a lot of fish hunting lately here in the Med. Unfortunately, it has almost always ended with an empty handed, disappointed Riles swimming back to the boat. There is an alarming amount of over fishing going on here in the Mediterranean Sea. 97% of the fish stocks that are assessed are overfished and/or not sustainable (these are only the fish that are actually assessed!! Excluding a number of other marine species which, for all we know could be in even more trouble). We’ve learned that recently people are becoming more and more aware of this issue and thankfully measures are being put into place. We hope to sail back here in the future and to be able to catch ourselves some dinner. I’m not a marine scientist, but I just thought this was a great opportunity to share this information with you. Overfishing is a serious problem all around the world, so all I wanted to suggest was WHERE YOU CAN, why not try and avoid eating things like shrimp? It may only look like a few shrimps in your cocktail glass, but the bi-catch that is associated with this fishing process (bi-catch is the animals that are also caught in the deep sea nets or whatever other tools they are using to haul up a particular species) will shock you. Without the demand, there is no need for supply. Why not go fishing with your own rod or net yourself? Not only is it better for the environment but it’s a heck of a lot funner and I think it really makes you appreciate your food more. Anyway, that’s all from me. Cheers, Elayna :) P.S In case anyone is wondering, I was not paid to promote chocolate ingredients. This is just something I love :) Song Credits: 00:00 Bears Smoke Cigarettes - Malibu Creek - https://soundcloud.com/bears-smoke-cigarettes 01:35 Symmetry - Martin Piehlmeier - www.martinpiehlmeier.com 03:32 How to Start a Cult - Conjugal Visit - https://soundcloud.com/conjugalvisit 06:16 Like a Dream - Chloe - https://chelou.bandcamp.com/ 09:08 Woke Up - Luis Trindade - https://luistrindade.bandcamp.com 10:06 From the Outside - Circle Light - https://soundcloud.com/circlelight 16:35 Land of Trees - Don’t be a Fool - https://open.spotify.com/artist/4Jew7xYlCjBxm0BLAcRdIn Videos made by Elayna and Daniel! https://www.instagram.com/elayna__c/ https://www.instagram.com/troyer86/ Don't forget to like us on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/sailinglavagabonde Want the chance to come aboard/unseen footage privileges? This is a new factory for HH, and CURIOSITY is the first finished boat they have worked on.  So, it was a bit painful and it took far longer than expected. Let's just say it was a series of unfortunate events for all of us. As you can imagine, everyone at HH feels TERRIBLE about the whole situation.  They have assured us that they stand behind their product and their customers.  The Cebu factory now has new management, new systems in place, additional experts, new training programs and has undergone infrastructure changes.  Just before we left, we were able to meet Rudy, the new general manager.  He is an impressive fellow with 24 years in design and manufacturing in the marine, automotive, aerospace and defense industries. He shared some of his grand plans for the Cebu factory and I do believe him when he says all future work will be up to the high standards HH is known for. So, while it has been a very stressful and expensive five plus weeks of living out of hotels.  We are happy to be back in our home and preparing for our next big passage. Plus, we get to share the journey with some of you, our Curiosity Crew! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Things We're Most Curious About... GETTING OFF-GRID Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. TALKING TO STRANGERS People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment. Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving. ALTERNATIVE LIVING These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community. This is Part 2 of 2 videos of our ocean passage from Vanuatu to Australia. We ran from a category 5 cyclone in Vanuatu, had beautiful conditions for most of the way, then sailed straight into a massive East Coast Low Pressure System as we approached the Australian Coast. On top of all this, we both became quite sick with Covid during the passage. Two people handling an Amel Super Maramu yacht in pretty terrible conditions. Music by Elena (of Straddie fame!). Music title: Home.

Rebuilding a historic sailing yacht - Planking Tally Ho! (EP86) Support; http://www.sampsonboat.co.uk/support Become a Patron; http://www.patreon.com/sampsonboatco ---- EPISODE 86. In this episode, we start to get the “hang” of the planking! The first quick job is to put the Stopwaters into the centreline seams - softwood dowels which will swell up and prevent water ingress. Then the first Angelique Garboard is hung, and is quickly followed by more Topside Planks and Broads. Meanwhile, I jury-rig a circular saw to cut rolling bevels, which helps speed up cutting the planks out. The other guys get into the swing of riveting, with the help of a homemade “Dolly” (otherwise known as a “Bucking Iron”). We are still speeding up, but by the end of the first 2 weeks of planking we have 12 planks on the boat, which I’m pretty happy with! ---- To become a Patron - https://www.patreon.com/sampsonboatco To donate or support - http://sampsonboat.co.uk/support My Amazon Wishlist http://a.co/76y5IZP For sneaky previews of what’s going on in between episodes, follow my FACEBOOK http://www.facebook.com/sampsonboatco and INSTAGRAM http://www.instagram.com/sampsonboatco. We have been trying to bring you guys a Tour of this Beauty for a while now and are so excited to finally make it happen. Where do I begin?! Well, it's definitely now in my TOP 10 all-time Favs (and as you know we have Toured a LOT of yachts lol). Personal highlights: The Beach Club, the Sundeck, the Bridge/Helm... wait till you see the Captain's chair I could not get Rico out of! The Master bath was pretty spectacular, the guest's cabins are just beautiful and very large... ooow the Galley had me at WINDOWS! The engines had Rico at MTUs! ;) It was simply too good to chop it up into 1 VERY fast Tour, so you get to enjoy it for 2 weekends... trust me, it's worth the wait! Let me know what you guys think of this one in the comments I know some of you will say: "Victoria, this is not a Superyacht!" Well, it actually is by definition, check it out here: https://youtu.be/HQy4kPV5HgE https://nautistyles.com/nauti-blog/size-does-matter-boat-vs-yacht 0:00 Intro 1:10 Exterior 15:50 Interior 19:50 Bridge 21:40 Captain's Cabin 23:20 Specs 24:06 Outtakes Huge Thank you to MAJESTY YACHTS USA for letting us explore on our own.
