Turtle tagging , Island Hopping & Hatching Clams This week we island- hop on our way towards the mainland. We spend a few days at the stunning island of Makogai, where we get a tour of the Giant Clam Hatchery and also get the chance to see some turtle tagging by the researchers from the University of the South Pacific. We overnight at the stunning Naigani Island and pick our way through the reef system to Nananu -I -Cake . Our plans to dive Bligh Water are thwarted by the weather, so we move on towards Denarau. And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Joys of boating, a blocked drain! The water has been draining slower and slower for about a week now, finally spurring me into tackling it. Also this week, I've put the bathroom wall back together, and fitted an ok (bit of a bodge job) floor for the cabinet. All in all, fairly proud 😉

This is a major boo boo. While walking through a boat yard we saw this boat on the hard. The damage was the result of a grounding, these type of damages are easily avoided with proper knowledge

We add two 600 W solar panels to either side of our boat. I build fiberglass supports to mount them on. Après deux mois immobilisés à cause d’une panne moteur, on lève enfin l’ancre… avec cette sensation incroyable que le monde nous appartient à nouveau. 🌊 Mais on réalise vite une chose : le corps oublie vite. L’équilibre, les mouvements, les sensations en mer… tout est à réapprendre. On retrouve nos amis Anibal et Anabelle, et très vite, l’aventure reprend. Direction les mangroves, de nuit, à la recherche de crocodiles 🐊… et contre toute attente, on en trouve. Entre moments de famille et nouvelles rencontres, on fait aussi la connaissance de Jed et Alexandra, instructeurs en apnée. Je me lance avec eux dans un cours… et c’est une révélation. Descendre en profondeur, repousser ses limites, explorer autrement… une expérience que je n’oublierai pas. 👉 Une vidéo entre liberté retrouvée, nature sauvage et dépassement de soi.
