http://tulasendlesssummer.com We headed South from Highbourne Cay and anchored off Shroud Cay. We immediately began exploring just North of the Exuma Land and Sea Park border off Norman's Cay. We didn't have any luck spearfishing in the sound so we snorkeled around the drug smuggling plane wreck off Norman's Cay. There was monster barracuda hanging with us as well as tons of fish. It was super cool exploring the wreck knowing the history of Norman's Cay and the mission of the plane with its cocaine cargo.

We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the work needed was much more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. On this week's episode of Onboard Lifestyle we finally start to talk about our past. You asked for it so we decided to start talking. Part one of this series delves into the purchase and refit of our first boat, a 1998 Lauren Williams 41' trimaran. We discuss our refit in preparation for our 3-1/2 year cruise in the Sea of Cortez and Mexico's mainland west coast. New Design New Possibilties..
The first job on our new build yacht project and were doing it with an iPhone 15 Pro! The plan is to use the phone to scan a very unique keel for this aluminium lift keel yacht! With only two other boats like ours in the world, we tracked one down to Scotland and had 1hr to scan her keel in order to make our own mould. The pressure was on as this was a one hit wonder… We share our findings using 3D scanning app Polycam, show the differences we found between LiDAR and Photogrammetry along with a helpful tip we got from the pros. We leave the San Blas after cruising the tropical paradise for a whole two months - It feels too short but a canal crossing is on the horizon! We haul anchor, set the Spinnaker and zoom off following Delos our buddy boat. It’s a lovely passage and after several hours of sailing we arrive into a pretty spot called East Lemon Banadup, one of the western most islands in the San Blas. This will be our jump off point for the next leg of the voyage but before then we’ve got time to squeeze in one more dive before our official last day is over so we check out a shipwreck at nearby Dog Island which boasts crystal clear water and an abundance of fish and coral. Early the next morning we set out as the sun rises and Bill sets up the code zero. Its a beautiful morning and conditions are perfect for sailing. We reflect on our journey thus far since today will be our last passage in the Atlantic Ocean for who knows how long. We’ve spent the last six years and over 30,000 miles in this body of water and in it experienced many defining milestones. Bill’s first blue water sail in December 2016, crossing from the Chesapeake Bay to the USVI’s with his good friend Ryan, for one. Following this Bill sailed solo around the Caribbean getting as far south as Grenada while Grace worked another year. He next sailed back to NYC to pick Grace and two good friends up for a buddy boat sail down to the Bahamas. And then it was off to the Caribbean before eventually crossing the Atlantic Ocean to the Azores. We tore ourselves away from the enchanting islands - to date our favorite place we’ve cruised - to meet Grace’s sister Molly in in Lisbon, officially completing our Atlantic Crossing. Afterwards, we spent a few months in Southern Portugal and Spain before running out of visa time, escaping to Gibraltar and finally beginning yet another new journey - Our YouTube Channel. The rest is history (136 episodes later!) and it all culminates in our exit from the Atlantic and entrance into the break wall for the Panama Canal . . . with the breeze up at 20 knots it feels appropriate given our sailing history! When we’re seconds from entering the break wall a giant tanker decides to get underway unexpectedly and forces us to do a huge circle in the choppy and confused seas. Unfortunate timing but it doesn’t stop us from completing our passage and finally entering the calmer waters behind the break wall at Shelter Bay Marina. ~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Enjoying our channel? 🔔 SUBSCRIBE - it's FREE!!! ➜ https://www.sailingbritaly.com/subscribe O-rings are insignificant little things - but not if you need one to fix your boat! O-ring splicing kits are cheap and if you have one on board you can make a perfectly sized o-ring in minutes. This video shows me making two o-rings to fix a leaking faucet on our small sailing boat. This O-Ring splicing kit is made of Black Buna-N, has a durometer of 70A, and includes 9 pieces of o-ring cord in metric cross sections, 1 meter of cord per piece. The cord has a Round cross-section and can be used across a wide temperature range from -67 degrees F (-55 degrees C) to 257 degrees F (125 degrees C). The splicing kit comes in a plastic box with lid card, instructions, cord stock, splicing jig, cutting tool, and adhesive. The kit includes the following cord sizes: 1 Meter of 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm, 5mm, 5.7mm, 8.4mm O-Ring Cord Stock. Buna-nitrile can have high tensile strength, as well as abrasion, tear, and compression set resistance. It is compatible for use with petroleum, hexafluoroacetone (HFA), hexafluoro-2-butyne (HFB) and hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) fluids, vegetable oil, alcohol, acids, and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Buna-nitrile is vulnerable to acetone, ethers, esters, ozone, sunlight and weathering, and should not be used in ozone-generating electric motors, welding equipment, or in applications with exposure to UV light. ⛵ Sailing Britaly ⛵ brings you the sailing shenanigans of Chris (British) and Rossella (Italian), as we sail our 30ft sloop. For more review, test, performance data, captain reports and more about the 2017 Yamaha SX 195, go to: http://www.boattest.com/review/yamaha/3586_sx195 The 195 Series from Yamaha represents an all-new lineup that the company says provided the best performance and handling in a 19’ (5.79 m) runabout. That’s a bold statement and Yamaha, taking the same engine that wins awards for the WaveRunner racing team and mating it to a boat for the first time, backs it up. Add in the Articulating Keel that provides better response and zero thrust steering, and we think Yamaha may be on to something.

Steve and Robin only have 4 days before Arabella needs to leave Harwich Port. Meanwhile, there’s some spring cleaning that needs to be done. Winter clothes, boots, fenders, and some dock lines are removed from the boat to be stored until next winter. This will be Arabella’s first sail of 2024. The plan is to move the boat to Mattapoisett. On day 1, the boat will sail to Cuttyhunk Island. On day 2, Arabella will sail to Buzzards Bay before reaching Mattapoisett, which is where the on-the-water journey began. It’s crazy to think that it’s almost been a year since Arabella launched. The boat has been prepped for sailing—unhooked from shore power, systems fired up, and dock lines untied. Everything was good to go…or so they thought. Around 6pm, when turning the engine back on to motor into the marina, the oil pressure light came on. Just before reaching the buoy of Cuttyhunk’s channel, the engine went dead. Fortunately, the wind was blowing toward the boat and away from the shallows, and luckily, the engine died just before entering the channel. And even more luckily, the tie-downs on the anchor chains were freed before taking off in case they needed to be deployed due to an emergency. The crew decided to hook up outside the channel in water deep enough for everyone to feel safe. Unfortunately, that was the end of sailing for the day. Luckily, everyone is okay, but time will tell if any permanent damage was done to the engine. -------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella started as a wooden boat building project in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve began the journey as an amateur wooden boat builder crafting a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and now sailing the boat—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that traditional wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project continues beyond the boat shop, as Steve and crew travel and learn to cruise aboard the handmade wooden boat that they've built. The Pearl Islands of Panama. In this episodes we explore more of this wonderful place. We take the boat on a scary passage through a narrow shallow gap between the islands to an anchorage to meet up with the guys from Ran Sailing. Sandy beaches and palm trees all under a sun lit sky. But then we come across the scourge of the Pacific . . garbage. Paradise is under threat from non-biodegradable plastic bottles and flip flops. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘blar bar mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. An RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat fitted with Hamilton HJ364 Waterjets combined with the power of 2 Scania Di13 12.7 litre engines with over 650 horsepower. In today’s video, we’re sharing our top list of Spirit Yachts’ modern classic beauties, including their market price and features. Watch until the end and check out the number one yacht on our list! Spirit Yachts is now recognized as one of the world's leading designers and builders of modern classic yachts. It currently manufactures a line of custom-designed wooden sailing and power yachts varying in size from daysailers to superyachts. Based in Suffolk on the UK's east coast, Sean McMillan and Mick Newman created Spirit Yachts in 1993 with the intention to provide yacht owners with a stunning, environmentally friendly alternative to production boats made of fiberglass. Today, this objective remains at the heart of the company's design ideology. ⛵️ Leave a LIKE, write a COMMENT, and SHARE this video if you enjoyed it! ⛵️ SUBSCRIBE and click the notification BELL to be updated with new episodes! This week you get to see a really excited Johan! Some real emotions there :) After exploring Santa Cruz we set off from Monterey to sail south to the Californian Channel Islands and it's a quite eventful sail! We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat Ran, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter in January 2016. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us. Your next chapter starts today. Get 10% off your first month of BetterHelp online therapy: https://betterhelp.com/Atticus. (Sponsored by BetterHelp) For the past 12 weeks we’ve travelled hundreds of miles across 4 states and visited a dozen small mountain towns in search of the ideal place to build our mountain homestead. And this week we finally reveal where in this beautiful part of the country, we’re going to call home. But that’s only the beginning because we’ve still got to find and buy our dream property. And with Desiree’s due date right around the corner, we need to act fast. So this week we tour a bunch of potential properties and we find one in particular that we really fall in love with. And we see if we can find a property within our budget or if we’ll have to go back to square one.
