The 20th anniversary of the Manly Yacht Club Helly Hansen Women's Challenge was held on March 22 with a record fleet participating. Transfusion led the fleet from the Division One start of a mixed fleet of IRC yachts, keel boats, J24s and Ynglings. Dale Lorimer was on the harbour and captured the fun and antics.

Vlog# 24 This time we sail 3 days straight down the Baja coast of Mexico from Magdalena Bay to Cabo San Lucas. Along the way we caught some tuna but let a few skip jacks go trying to get the specific kind we wanted. We got some sourdough starter from a sailor in Magdalena Bay that has been around since the 1800s, he also circumnavigated with it on his boat and he gave us some to carry on the tradition. The first thing we made was sourdough pretzels and they were amazing!!! After 3 days we finally make it into Cabo San Lucas just as the sun was rising. The water was insanely clear and beautiful so we obviously had to jump in and snorkel around. We dove down the check out the anchor and see all the beautiful fish swimming around. Then we took the dinghy through the bay to check out the famous Playa del Amor (Lover's Beach) and El Arco, a natural archway in the sea cliffs. We also went into town for supplies and to check out the town. It was so busy and crazy, something we were definitely not used to at all after being by ourselves on the boat for so long in the middle of nowhere!! Light winds on the opening day of the Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series Annapolis found some fleets enjoying races while others waited out to no avail. Still, there was some light-air practicing to be had and some close finishes to enjoy.

The final two days of our sail from Townsville to Brisbane sees us in rough conditions again and injuries sustained as we battle heavy swell and beat straight into the wind. It's a welcome sight when we finally see masts in the marina and complete our massive first ever sail of over 640 nautical miles. We are an Aussie couple with a dream to sail and scuba dive around the world. We bought our Beneteau Oceanis 430 in October 2023 with zero sailing experience but the belief that we can do this. We have filmed our journey from looking for boats, buying the boat, downsizing so we can liveaboard and all the messy wonderful life stuff in between. Join us now as we continue our ten day journey to sail our boat home from Townsville to Brisbane Queensland Australia. After a first day of sailing that lasted over 24hrs due to instrument failure we were stranded in Airlie Beach waiting for a marine electrician to look at the boat. With a new instrument panel installed we continue our sail back to Brisbane Queensland Australia. Day four saw us sailing from Airlie Beach to Shaw Island. Then with a major weather system on the way up the coast we were forced to continue south with a 48hr sailing passage from Shaw Island to Bundaberg. On the way we experience epic sunrises and sunsets on the ocean, spot our first dolphins and continue our sailing education. We tackle navigating our sailboat through shipping channels in the middle of the night and experience our first day on our sailboat powered by sails only for a full day. As new sailors we want to share all our learnings and keep it real in our videos. Our sailing learning curve is steep so come along with us as we learn and grow as liveaboard sailors.
