Join us this week while we go about a host of different activities. It starts with us taking a little trip to Panama City Beach for a couple of day of relaxing at the end of Mardi Gras week. While there, Deb and I decided to check out a few marinas in Panama City, Pensacola, and Orange Beach AL. We also got to meet Jay and Nikki from Nauti Ohana, a 41' Formosa they are refitting. We had dinner with them, went back to our hotel and while the kids swam in the pool, we talked story, boats and our sailing plans. We then ran into another couple with a 47' Formosa that have been following our refit online which was pretty cool. We decided to extend our stay another day and when we return we go back to the boat to finish sealing the remaining fixed ports on the boat !! My video's are quite ocndensed at the moment and it's because I am spending every minute of my time on Lulu the Lugger learning something new. In this video i'm probably reaching in the best wind i've had so far on Lulu and it makes for quite an exhilarating sail. I definitely learnt a lot about the boat today. There's a few jobs to do before weighing anchor and then we quickly find some good wind in which we have to heave-to in to get a few things sorted on the boat. She takes it in her stride and never once felt like capsizing. Averaging about 5.8 mph., we get home sooner than expected so there's time for some circuits, beam raching in a bumpy lake to test out how she feels in these conditions for the first time. You can see how everything just gets better every time I try it in on this sail. Vi seglar norrut mot Karlshamn. Där ankrar vi i en liten fin vik. När vi skulle tanka fick vi problem! 🙁 Vår bogpropeller slutade fungera. Det var inte lätt att lägga till i hamnen då… Tomas fixade felet och därefter fortsatte vi till en liten hamn (Sandhamn) för att bara övernatta. Nästa morgon fortsatte vi mot Kalmar. Eng: We sail north towards Karlshamn. There we anchor in a nice little bay. When we were going to refuel, we had a problem! 🙁 Our bow thruster stopped working. It was not easy to add to the port then… Tomas fixed the error and then we continued to a small harbor (Sandhamn) to just spend the night. The next morning we continued towards Kalmar. Ty: Wir segeln nach Norden in Richtung Karlshamn. Dort ankern wir in einer schönen kleinen Bucht. Als wir tanken wollten, hatten wir ein Problem! 🙁 Unser Bugstrahlruder funktionierte nicht mehr. Damals war es nicht einfach, den Hafen zu erweitern ... Tomas hat den Fehler behoben und dann sind wir weiter zu einem kleinen Hafen (Sandhamn) gefahren, um einfach die Nacht zu verbringen. Am nächsten Morgen fuhren wir weiter Richtung Kalmar. Finska: Purjehdimme pohjoiseen kohti Karlshamnia. Siellä ankkuroimme mukavaan pieneen lahteen. Kun menimme tankkaamaan, meillä oli ongelma! 🙁 Keulapotkurimme lakkasi toimimasta. Porttiin lisääminen ei silloin ollut helppoa… Tomas korjasi virheen ja sitten jatkoimme pieneen satamaan (Sandhamn) vain yöpymään. Seuraavana aamuna jatkoimme matkaa kohti Kalmaria.

Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles Andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei komplett überholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen.
