http://tulasendlesssummer.com On our cruise down to Boca the small weak shackle clip broke which was holding our tender to our tow line. Thank god I was paying attention and spotted it early and thank god the conditions weren't bad. I replaced it with a nice thick shackle that definitely won't break. We made it down to Boca safely and will continue to head South before crossing the Gulf.

In this week's video we depart from our home in the Florida Keys in route to do some of the best deep sea saltwater fishing Florida has to offer. We spend the morning offshore fishing for different pelagic species with little to no luck, therefor we decided to make a switch and try deep drop fishing for queen snapper. We quickly transitioned from bottom fishing key largo to the deep depths off Islamorada. Upon arrival we immediately started to bring up Queen Snapper & Rutter Fish with ease. After filling multiple stringers with fish, the sun began to fall and we decided to make a run back to our Florida Keys home in order to clean and cook our catch. Stephanie prepared a delicious cajun style seafood dish that was absolutely fantastic. There after we close out the video by reminiscing on the day while spreading some positive energy. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V700 with a Rode External mic with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action, underwater scenes and small blogging is done with two Osmo action cams. Some boat shots are done with a Dji gimbal camera. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. Was this the most stupid or awesome thing we’ve ever done? We can’t decide. On a 1200 Mile sailing passage from Tahiti to Niue, the weather swings and we have a tricky decision to make. We choose to divert our course to a remote atoll to the extreme West of French Polynesia. Maupihaa, otherwise known as Mopelia seems like a god place to hang out and wait for our weather window. The entrance to the island is a narrow and intimidating pass with a strong current. We have no way of accessing the tide information so just have to chance it and hope the current isn’t too strong to overpower us. Scary stuff, guys.  Diving on the anchor, we are visited by a shark, barracuda and eagle ray which tells us we’re probably going to like it here. Yup, we’re in for a treat. Between exploring the empty beaches and freediving the pass we are gobsmacked by the incredible nature this untouched island has to offer. Two EPIRBs were set off about midnight, and first vessel to respond was a freighter about 4 hours later. The only thing found was one of the activated EPIRBS and one life preserver. No debris field, normally associated with a collision at sea, or other sinking, was found. This area has been near the location of previous violent pirate attacks. See the Caribbean Safety & Security Net (safetyandsecuritynet.org) for past events. There is a possibility the vessel was taken over by pirates and towed or sailed to the coast of Nicaragua or Honduras. It is also possible the boat was stolen and re-named in order to make drug runs. Well this is what boat life is meant to be like! We set off from Morne Rouge in Grenada to Rhonde Island, a remote and uninhabited island north of the mainland. After last week's cutless bearing scare (check out the video here: ) we're trying to use our engine a whole lot less (we are a SAILBOAT after all!) so we get our sails up and make the 20 mile bash against the current (Adam explains how you can check for this too prior to heading out for a sail). Project X is a 88m full custom superyacht of superlative standing. Project X offers the most indulgent and luxurious charter experience imaginable. Built by Golden Yachts and launched in 2022, Project X was immediately acknowledged for her unique design and high number of lifestyle amenities, including an award-winning design beach club with spa facilities, a lounge and fold-down balconies at the water’s edge. This innovative superyacht delights at every turn – the attention to detail and consideration given to maximising onboard enjoyment truly embodies what superyacht charter is all about. This yacht’s head-turning exterior profile is by Ken Freivokh Design and features cascading aft decks with a triple-X strip amidships. The artistic interior by Massari Design Studio can be described as contemporary with an art deco twist. Leather and marble are used throughout, and Project X has an impressive collection of Greek art onboard. Another notable aspect of her design is her triple-height glass atrium and lift, which runs from the bottom deck to the top and is the largest cylinder lift ever installed on a yacht. This area leads through to the formal interior dining room with adjoining library and a smaller intimate dining room. The upper deck offers an expansive second lounge in a circular arrangement, served by a statement bar counter. Deck spaces include the sun deck which, as well as a Jacuzzi and bar counter, boasts a spacious fully equipped gym with 360-degree views. To aft on the main deck, Project X has an outdoor cinema setup, and a glass-edged swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers and exterior lounge furniture. Spa facilities include a wellness suite with Hammam, sauna, beauty salon and massage room, and there’s also a dedicated medical suite. Project X has an incredible array of water toys, including two Sea Doo GTX limited 300 jet skis, two Sea Doo Wake Pro 230 jet skis, three SeaBobs, a Fliteboard, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, wakeboards and water skis, and various towable inflatables. The yacht is served by four tenders – a 10m limousine, two 6.25m sports RIBs, and a 9m classic chase boat, so you can be sure of transfers to and from shore in style. In Part 1 of this episode, Matt and I focus once more on bulkheads number 4 and 5. Now that we've cut out the areas where the doors will be, we need to go back and add a little strength. This comes in the form of adding three sheets of fiberglass to the tops of the bulkheads - two of the 0-90 biaxel, and one of the 45-45 double biased. Lots of strength training for these bulkheads, but it will pay off loads for us later. :) Stay tuned for Part 2 where we try once more to add unidirectional fiberglass to the troughs in the fiberglass. In the episode (S2-E34 )of The Art of Boat Building we see how to turn over a boat hull by yourself. Small boats are built on a mold upside down. Once the hull is finished the boat is flipped so that the topside can be completed. Once flipped over the boat must have a place to firmly rest. The best solution is a boat cradle. Building a boat cradle is covered in this episode. Diese Entscheidung bedeutet viel Arbeit und Risiko, viele Ecken in Booten sind nicht zugänglich und man muss jede Verkleidung öffnen, um neue Kabel zu legen. The last days with my sister have passed and I am by myself again. We've had two beautiful days around Panamarina, taking the dinghi out to Isla Linton and Puerto Lindo - paddling, because the outboard engine still does not work. 40 knots of wind and 6-7 metre waves play havoc with the fleet in the 2015 Transat Jacques Vabre. Five of the "top contenders' had to retire from the race after either capsizing or experiencing damage in the wild conditions. They were Edmond de Rothschild, Safran, Maitre CoQ, Prince de Bretagne and Team Concise.

I'm very close to being done fairing the deck hull joint. There were a few rainy days this week. I took advantage of that and made some progress in the galley.
