#227 ✍️Nos premiers invités ont laissé place à Laurence et Bruno. C’est la deuxième fois que nous les recevons en initiation. Forcément, leur premier séjour a tissé des liens et l’amitié étant, nous sommes heureux de les accueillir un peu plus longtemps à bord. Eux aussi ont des idées de voyages et de liberté. Pour le moment, ils s’essaient, tâtonnent, cherchent leur voie. Nous faisons de notre mieux pour leur transmettre nos acquis, pour leur partager notre expérience en toute honnêteté, sans tabou, avec les bons côtés et aussi les mauvais côtés de cette vie hors normes. Tous les sujets sont abordés, du journal de bord, au mal de mer, à la vie à bord. La météo passe aussi dans les points cruciaux et sur ce point, rien ne va plus ! El Nino est-il en cause ? Le réchauffement climatique ? Le changement des saisons ? Rien n’est fiable ! Le temps est instable, les précisions de prévisionnistes nulles. En 17 ans, nous avons rarement subit autant d’incertitude ! Pour entrer par la passe d’Avapehi au nord-ouest de Huahine, il faut se fier à l’alignement et rester hyper prudent ! Y aurait-il prêt de cette île une malédiction sur les bateaux de passage ou les voyageurs envoutés par le charme de ses courbes en oublient ils les dangers du récif ? 19 voiliers cette année se sont échoués par ici ! Et ce n’est pas d’aujourd’hui, nous nous rappelons, lors de notre passage avec Pirates.com en 2016 (extrait de notre premier livre : hisser les voiles jusqu’au bout de ses rêves) : « La terre est toute proche. La lune s’est déjà drapée derrière l’horizon…. 4 heures du matin, un grésillement me fait sursauter. C’est la VHF ! Positionnée sur canal 16, un « Maday-mayday » met nos sens en émoi. La voix épouvantée d’une femme lance un signal de détresse. Elle est avec son mari sur un 38 pieds. La réception est mauvaise, le MRCC capte seulement par intermittence mais nous comprenons que l’incident est grave. Leurs coordonnées les situent à 0,5 milles de nous. Les secours en mer ne reçoivent plus les émissions des naufragés, nous nous devons de réagir… ». Des histoires comme celle-ci, Huahine en récence plusieurs ! Black Lion est au repos sur une bouée devant le village principal : Fare. Dans ces conditions, notre bon lion peut rester sans surveillance quelques heures, le temps d’un tour de l’ile. Huahine est souvent décrite comme l’une des plus authentiques. Jadis, elle portait le nom de Matairea, vent joyeux, doré ou rare. Son nom actuel est dérivé de hua huatearu, ou corail brisé, lié à la légende de Hiro, le dieu des voleurs qui coupa l’île de Huahine en deux avec sa pirogue. Depuis, séparée en deux, Huahine nui et Huahine iti sont reliées par un pont. Vous serez surement surpris d’apprendre en discutant avec la population locale que Huahine tire son nom de hua, sexe et hine, femme. Il y a plusieurs versions à cette transcription : son nom ferait allusion à une femme enceinte dont les formes du mont Tavaiura rappellerait. On dit aussi que cela lui viendrait de son passé, gouverné uniquement par des reines ou encore qu’en temps anciens, une déesse aurait trouvé une ruse pour épargner les femmes de sacrifices obligés ! Les conteurs polynésiens mettent du cœur à transmettre leur héritage de légendes. L’histoire des anguilles sacrées aux yeux bleues de Fa’a’ie en est un bel exemple et là encore, l’interprétation du don divin de ces créatures fait la promesse d’une vie d’abondance. Cette escale sera courte, en cause, un rendez-vous à 25 milles de là, sur l’île de Raiatea. Nous avons organisé une sortie de l’eau de Blacky pour lui changer ses hélices ! Il était temps ! Nous les lorgnons depuis pas mal d’années en nous disant qu’un jour, nous les offririons à notre réalisateur de rêve. Et avec le concours de Seaview progress, ce jour est venu plus tôt qu’inespérée ! La collaboration nous permet de remplacer nos bipales fixes par des hélices Max-Prop. L’une de leurs caractéristiques les plus notables est leur mise en drapeau, qui permet de minimiser la trainée sous voile en offrant une performance optimale que ce soit en marche avant ou en marche arrière. La manœuvrabilité est incontestable ! Mon capitaine est ravi. Taaha partage le même lagon que Raiatea. Généreuse en contrastes, elle domine un jardin de corail extraordinaire. Armel Le Cleach and the Maxi Banque Populaire XI, are heading to the Brazilian port of Recife to the repair the pulpit on the main hull, and to replace the tack line fitting for the gennaker, after damage incurred during a problem with the J zero sail which the French skipper spoke of during a ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE-Brest live broadcast yesterday. The pulpit maintains the safety of the skipper when he is working at the front of the boat. With Le acdue in the Southern Ocean in a few days time his team say, it it is imperative that this part of the boat is functional for the rest of the race. And, during the pit-stop, members of Team Banque Populaire report, they will take the opportunity to also resolve a problem discovered on the hydraulics of the foil system. The boat is expected to arrive in Recife between tonight and tomorrow morning, (French time), and it will be met with members of the technical team. It will stop for at least 24 hours as required by the rules of the race governing a stopover.

Doch gleich nach ein paar Stunden zerlegt es Arzum. Sie wird erstmals richtig seekrank. Und kommt bis zur Ankunft auch nicht mehr auf die Beine.
