In this episode we take a trip up the western side of Viti Levu for a few days to kitesurf the sand cay we call 'the flats'. When the wind changes we head up to a better anchorage at Nananu-I-Ra from where we sail across Bligh Water across to Yasawa Island at the very top of the Yasawa island group in Fiji. After 2 and a half years in Australia we are back on Kawai in Turkey. It's a huge relief to see Kawai is in great shape and this video is a brief rundown of what we have been up to for the past couple of years. Covid restricted Trace and I to Australia, and we made good use of the time working to fund future sailing adventures. We both get jobs and buy an investment property to allow a little more cash in the budget. This video is short, we hope to begin vlogging fully again soon and bring you videos of our travels, hope you enjoy the video. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the last couple years we have sailed to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia. #246, ✍️ Lors de notre premier voyage, lorsque je quittais le navire pour aller travailler, Cyril n’était jamais seul. Jonathan était avec lui. A deux, ils s’organisaient, et finalement, mon capitaine avait toujours l’aide précieuse de son fils. Au fil du temps, Jonathan est devenu son second en toutes circonstances. Je n’avais plus qu’à me laisser porter en les laissant gérer tous les deux. En repartant avec Blacky, j’ai dû tout réapprendre. Redevenir équipière en temps plein. Petit à petit, mon rôle s’est affiné et mes tâches sont devenues des automatismes. Chacune de mes affectations se sont faites tout naturellement, sans vraiment y réfléchir. Un juste complément à ma moitié. Mais aujourd’hui, ma moitié est seule, et comme nul n’est indispensable, il se débrouille sans moi ! Démarrage à la voile, navigation, prise de coffre en solo, avec ses loupés mais sans stress. Et pour la cuisine c’est pareil ! C’est peut-être le seul point sur lequel j’ai un avantage sur lui ! J’aime ça, cuisiner, lui faire des petits plats et je vais pouvoir me rattraper ! Ma semaine à terre se termine. Quel bonheur de retrouver notre cocon, le clapot des vagues, l’air du large et surtout l’amour de ma vie. Black Lion semble posé dans une piscine, c’est juste superbe ! Le bien-être que nous apporte notre vie sur l’eau reste indissociable avec les aléas qu’elle comporte. Le mauvais temps, les frayeurs, les pannes. Cette fois-ci c’est un problème électrique, rien de grave, mais il est impératif de ne pas laisser trainer un disfonctionnement !

Grande première pour notre leonberger sur notre nouveau voilier On nous a dit elle est trop grosse, elle est trop vieille, un chien ça n'a rien à faire sur un bateau, elle va pas s'amariner.... bref vous avez compris quand on veut trouver des excuses on en trouve Mais.. Nous c'est notre chienne de famille, un membre à part entière, d'une intelligence peu commune, toujours à nos côtés ! Elle a compris que son territoire s'arrête à la passerelle. Elle a trouvé sa place à côté de son maître près de la roue le plus naturellement du monde. Elle monte dans l'annexe et attend que son maître l'emmène à terre pour ses besoins, sans aboyer, sans stress.
