Last minute temporary changes had to be implemented to make this milestone moment all come together. A video covering the 2022 DF65 (Dragon Force) and DF95 (DragonFlite) Traveller Trophy event held at Weecher Reservoir on 28th & 29th May 2022. This event is part of a series of Model Yacht Racing events for DF65 & DF95 classes held once a month at various locations across the UK during 2022. Weecher reservoir is set high up in the Pennines in Northern England about 15 miles North East of the City of Leeds. It is approximately 250 metres above sea level it is known as a venue for strong winds and cool conditions as well as stunning views over the valleys below The DF65s raced on Saturday and DF95s on the Sunday. There was a healthy turnout of 33 DF65s and 39 DF95s on Sunday. The 2022 DF95 TT events will count towards qualification for the Global Regatta at Fleetwood in 2023 so this has boosted turnouts for these events. Radio Sailing (Model yacht racing) is a competitive form of yacht racing run along similar lines to dinghy racing and keelboat racing.

In fact, her Universal diesel has less than 150 hours on it. Her sails are in good-great shape, and her dodger is also in good shape. She has new batteries (both house and starter), and a new alternator. Within the past 10 years, she received a new mast and standing rigging, and much more. She could be sailed away now, but to get her back into great shape, you're going to want to do some work. The major job is replacing the original cork cabin sole that was damaged by water intrusion last spring. You'll also want to sand and varnish the exterior brightwork, followed by her interior woodwork. Lastly, you'll probably want to paint her topsides and deck - but there's no rush on this! 525 of these Sparkman & Stephens designed Tartan 34Cs were made between 1968 and 1978. She was a very successful design for Tartan and she won many races, including the Marblehead to Halifax Race, and she competed in other offshore sailboat races such as the Newport to Bermuda Race. A capable sailboat, with a good turn of speed for her size (and age), she will be an ideal boat for a solo sailor, couple, or a small family. And she's capable of going anywhere. With her shoal draft keel that only draws 4 feet when her centerboard is up, and 8 feet when it's down, the options are limitless. Here is finally the first installment of our 5 Day sailing trip my son Nathan and I took to the Florida Keys in May of 2019. We started in Key Largo's Pennekamp State Park and sailed west to the Channel 5 bridge and then back east. Some of the trip is out in Hawk Channel and some in Florida Bay. We stopped at two reefs off shore and then finally I got to sail with dolphins... what a thrill!
