We met our Swiss friends who sails on a Trimaran and then we set sail south again to the Tobago Cays before sailing back to Grenada. Don't worry, electrical geeks and systems nerds, there's still plenty to do on the wiring front. We have to put that on pause a bit until we know what the clearance is around the finished water tanks. Until then, let's keep screaming along on the interior. This week, a couple of lockers take shape, a good portion of sole is laid, and a platform for the fridge to sit on is built. We don't grow teak and holly here in Granby, Massachusetts, where Arabella is being built, but we sure do have a bunch of mahogany (from Victoria) and cherry (felled here in Granby). Steve glues up strips of wood that will have the same effect as the beautiful and traditional contrasting surfaces found in a lot of boat soles and fancy runabout foredecks. Starting from the cockpit that's perfect for staging water activities we step up a flight of stairs to the aft deck. This area features one of the two al fresco dining spaces aboard. Here we can either step inside to the full beam salon or take a spiral stair case up to the expansive bridge. Heading up the stairs brings us to a a davit and toy storage area that features a ribbed inflatable and 2 wave runners. Heading forward brings us past a hot tub and to the fully outfitted wet bar. Adjacent to the bar is the second outdoor dining area. Continuing forward brings us the bridge helm station that's been outfitted with new Furuno electronics. Flaking either side are wing stations for docking and just to port is access to the sliding door yielding access to the pilot house. Back in the lower aft deck we open two sliding doors to reveal a massive full beam salon that's incredibly wide open. We are immediately greeted by new distressed tile flooring at our feet and see a great conversation pit where there are two sofas facing each other. Forward of this brings us to the indoor formal dining area. Its nice to note that this is ALL FREE STANDING furniture so, the yacht can be customized to your taste easily. Immediately behind the dining area is a full wet bar and huge 80' LED Smart TV. Heading to port from here takes us to a set of stairs leading to (3) of the guest accommodations. The full beam master stateroom is located mid ship and features a king size bed, new LG LED TV, (2) large cedar lined closet and a sought after his-and-hers baths arrangement. There are (2) identical guest staterooms located just aft of the master. These offer a very cleaver layout with a double bed to one side and an additional single bed adjacent in both cabins. Back in the salon if we hang a right to starboard we find a hallway with day head and pilothouse access to port, a sliding door with bow access to starboard and acts as the entrance to the Country Kitchen all the way forward. Her galley is huge and has a center island and all newer appliances. Just forward of this is a breakfast nook. And, to starboard is access to the huge VIP. The VIP stateroom is located all the way forward and is more than generous with a private staircase featuring a queen size bed facing aft and comfortable ensuite bathroom. Found on the bow of LADY SHARON GALE we have tons of sun pad space with a sun bed forward, huge sound pads just above accessed via built in stairs and of course, the ground tackle located all the way forward. There are several Pros and Cons for going to the Deep South of Maldives. In comparison to our trip several years ago we found a lot more livaboards and divers in Addu Atoll. The divespot"Tigerzoo" in Fuvamullah is very special. With our local guide we felt very safe. In Gaafu Aliffu we were surprised how healthy the corals are. After a few years of bleaching in a row 2017 and 2018 they are now in excellent condition. The biggest surprise of our trip was the amazing house reef of The Residence with several encounters with a Zebra Shark. Thanks to the dive crew of The Residence for some of the best channel dives ever. The snorkel video was shot with Gopro Hero 9 For the diving videos I used a Panasonic GH5MkII. We've been going for three years straight now. At first we were working full time jobs and building on nights and weekends to support ourselves and pay for the build. Recently the support has been strong enough for us to be able to work full time on the project but we were still held back on how much time we could work due to the amount of energy that goes into editing the videos we put out. This meant we were only working when both of us could be in the boathouse. Considering the videos took a good chunk of a week to edit (for a novice video editor... not bad) that meant we only got to work about two weeks a month. We've been wanting to change this for a long time and we are finally pulling the trigger. We hired on a video editor who will now be part of the team, editing all of our footage. This will free us both to be able to work whenever we choose, which means getting a lot more work done. AND that also means we are going to try to ramp up to doing weekly videos so that you can all see more progress, more often! However, we are really jumping the gun on this one. We are really tightening up the belt for this and dipping into funds (Ben our editor as well). So we need your help. A lot of work goes into sharing these videos (build work, but also planning, shooting, producing, editing, etc) but we never want to put them behind a pay wall so that only those able to pay for it can see them. Dort sind die Wellen über die Hafenmauer gestiegen und haben insgesamt 13 Schiffe zum Sinken gebracht, noch mehr schwer beschädigt. She's particularly beautiful when flipped over... the gentle curves of her bare bottom up in the air. I approach her slowly. Then, at the height of anticipation... I slap on a coat of paint. Yep. It's time to paint the hull of the dinghy. I painted on 4 coats. Boy, it sure does look great now! The trouble is that I think it may looks too perfect. I really do dread putting it in the water and having it get all scratched, scuffed, and stained. Ah well - that'll just add character, right? I also put on a dozen pad eyes around the boat for general utility... then I take em all off and drill big 1" holes in the gunnels instead. Also, a malfunction in my magical snapping powers causes a scantly clad Tambi to appear in her signature red bikini. Sorry about that. Thanks for watching!!
