You don’t need a yoga practice. You don’t need sailing experience. Just bring yourself, a mat, and whatever you’re ready to leave in the wake. This is the day your body remembers. For most of human history, the body lived outdoors — moving with wind and water, oriented by the horizon, regulated by the rhythm of the natural world. The city is recent. The screen is very recent. But the body hasn’t forgotten what it needs. It’s just been a long time since anyone gave it back. Yoga and sailing were made for each other. They share one core principle: stop fighting and start moving with what’s already in motion. On the mat, that’s the breath. On the water, that’s the wind. Both teach you to find your center in the middle of movement — and discover that stillness and flow aren’t opposites. They’re the same thing. Outdoors, under the sun in the salt-laced air, this goes somewhere a spa day or studio simply cannot reach. The horizon opens your nervous system. The rhythm of the boat keeps you present without effort. The salt air, the light, the sound of the sails filling, it lands like a primal reminder of what the body needs.

What could have been a setback turned into a unique family experience, as we slowly sailed between idyllic atolls, adapting to a simpler, more hands-on way of life while waiting for essential spare parts to arrive. Despite the challenge, we embraced every moment. One of the highlights of our time was celebrating Yewan’s birthday in the most extraordinary way—snorkelling over a mysterious shipwreck, a vessel with a history as layered as the ocean itself, having changed names several times over the years. Gliding above its remains in crystal-clear waters made for a birthday none of us will ever forget. We discovered a charming spot to enjoy pizza, and explored small local shops in search of supplies. Reprovisioning became an adventure of its own, as we sourced fresh produce from a nearby farm and made do with what was available, learning to be resourceful along the way. When the long-awaited spare parts finally arrived, it marked a turning point in our journey. Together as a family, we worked side by side to repair the steering system, transforming a technical challenge into a shared achievement. With everything back in working order, we completed our final preparations—refilling our water tanks, refuelling, and getting ready for the next leg of our voyage. This experience of sailing around the Maldives with an emergency tiller wasn’t just about overcoming obstacles—it was about resilience, family teamwork, and discovering the beauty of slowing down in one of the world’s most breathtaking destinations. --- MUSIC CREDITS: Music by: https://www.bensound.com License code: B79AYU6ZLYQAENT7 Artist: : Benjamin Tissot Music by: Bensound License code: K10OWWQIU4IFACM0 Artist: : Benjamin Tissot --- 💙 SUPPORT OUR CHANNELS: A big THANK-YOU to our MOTHERSHIP PATREON family who make these videos possible.

We took a break from full-time boat life to explore South Africa in a completely different way — chasing waves, meeting incredible people, and stepping into our first ever surf competition. From the coastline of Jeffreys Bay to the rugged cliffs of Gansbaai and the energy of Cape Town, this became one of the most memorable parts of our journey so far. ⸻ For a few weeks, we swapped life on the water for the open road — trading anchorages for road trips, surf sessions, and new experiences as a family. Along the way, we: * Surfed the world-famous right-handers of JBay * Adjusted (quickly!) to freezing water temperatures * Met some of the most welcoming people we’ve come across * Explored hidden gems like the Drip Cave and Klipgat Caves * And watched Bella & Archie take on their first surf competition It wasn’t just about the waves — it was about slowing down, seeing a new side of South Africa, and experiencing life at a different pace. ⸻ If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to step away from one way of life and try something completely different… this one’s for you. ⸻ 🌊 Join Our Sailing Family Adventure! SUPPORT our boat refit: www.red-seas.com/refit and help us keep making these videos for you. This boat project is the main reason we hauled out and started this huge refit in the first place. Our sailboat is more than 20 years old and the thru hulls were all starting to corrode and look well past their best, and when something as crucial as the only thing stopping you from sinking is looking past its best...it's time to get to work! We are removing 17 bronze thru hulls from our boat and replacing them with newer, plastic ones from TruDesign. Episode 267 We’re leaving the turquoise waters of Great Keppel Island behind and heading somewhere most boats never go. After an incredible time exploring the hidden gems of Great Keppel, it was time to pull anchor and find some solitude. We navigated a tricky, narrow entrance to find a "no-name" anchorage where the forest literally meets the sea. Total isolation, just us, the beach, and the birds. But the real culture shock came next. We sailed north to Stanage, a tiny, remote town at the end of 60 miles of grueling dirt roads. With only one shop and a handful of locals, it’s about as "Outback" as a coastal town gets. We grabbed the bicycles, hit the dusty tracks, and met the legends who call this isolated patch of Australia home. After months of planning, sleepless nights and big dreams… the time finally came. At 2am, we untied the lines and left Woolverstone Marina for the final time to begin our family sailing adventure aboard Sea-Kat. ⚓️ This episode is full of emotion as we say goodbye to home, welcome Skye — our newest crew member — and begin the journey south with stops in Ramsgate and Dover along the way. Accidentes personales a bordo. Over the last 18 months, we've been getting our canal boat prepared, all the while writing a book! We're now ready to begin our journey from Yorkshire to the Fens via the tidal Trent and out into the Wash. Are we and the boat ready for this big trip? After finding a leak in the engine bay, it seems there are more maintenance jobs to undertake, but we won't let this stop us from slipping the lines and getting our toes wet once more. We give a little overview of our proposed journey, which takes us onto the River Trent. It's tidal and meandering, and we've never taken a canal boat onto this type of body of water. But before we can even get there, we have to wait until a few repairs have been completed on the Stainforth and Keady Canal, including that pesky railway bridge that seems to go out of action every other day! After many months in the design stage, we are finally ready to install and test our new SECRET WEAPON.. our new Flexible fiberglass TopCon Arch Pro 200 watt solar panels from BougeRV.. in fact, we are installing 12 of them for a total output power rating of 2400watts! They will all be installed on our new fiberglass hardtops, there will be 2 sets of 4 panels installed on the new Bimini hardtop, and another set of 4 on the new dodger hardtop.. I've been waiting a long time to see if these panels stack up to the claims made by the manufacturer, and today we find out! Spoiler Alert... I have been testing these panels in real time for over a month now, and can safely say I highly recommend them.. they are a bit more expensive than normal solar panels, but the weight savings alone is a huge factor in many solar installations including my own! Here are some discount codes for those of you that would like to buy your own, and no I don't make any commission on them, I purchased these ones with my own money simply because I believe them to be the best performance and value overall for the money.. enjoy, and thanks for watching! 🎁Amazon 10% OFF coupon code BOUGERV80 on BougeRV 200W Arch pro solar panel: https://bit.ly/3P9uF04 Official site 10% OFF coupon code BOUGERVTECH: https://bit.ly/4sdMlX2 Join our Patreon and join our Team SSL Crew! http://www.patreon.com/SailingSophisticatedLady Come and join us realtime at: http://www.facebook.com/groups/SSLBackstage http://www.instagram.com/SailingSophisticatedLady To all those contributing to our next adventures, Thank-You so much! http://www.Paypal.Me/SailingTheLady SSL Video Collections on Vimeo! https://vimeo.com/ambientreallife/vod_pages

I thought this would be a straightforward job… swap out the old freshwater pump and fit a new one. It wasn’t. The new pump looked identical, but the quick-fit connectors were just slightly different — enough that nothing would fit. So instead of a simple replacement, this turned into something else entirely… A proper “Franken pump” build using parts from both the old and new units. Along the way, I also explain: • How a boat’s pressurised water system works • How multi-diaphragm pumps actually move water • Why small differences in fittings can cause big problems If you’re working on your own boat systems, this one might save you a bit of head scratching. 👍 If you found it useful, give it a like — it really helps the channel 🔔 And subscribe if you want to follow along with more real-world boat fixes Support the channel / early ad-free access: 👉 https://www.patreon.com/svimpavidus #boatmaintenance #boatrepair #liveaboard #sailinglife #diyboat Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid XX 🇬🇧 ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️ =================================================== 👋 We’re Ant & Cid aboard SV Impavidus – two adventurers sailing full-time since 2018. There’s something very appealing about a boat that knows exactly what it is. The Harbour Classic 52 by Whitehaven Motor Yachts leans into that understated Down East styling that so many experienced boaters seem to come back to later in life. Classic lines, shaft-drive diesels, practical spaces and a layout that feels designed for real owners rather than a boat show checklist. For many people this probably isn’t a “first” boat. It’s more likely the result of years spent sailing, owning larger yachts or simply understanding what actually matters once the novelty wears off. Today we take a closer look around the Harbour Classic 52 here on the Gold Coast, Queensland and explore who will likely see the most value in a boat like this. From the 2.4m tender garage and social cockpit layout to the surprisingly simple operation, there’s a lot to unpack here. In the next episode we’ll take her offshore for a full sea trial and see how she performs underway. Join us aboard Polaris for the final chapter of an unforgettable sailing season in Arctic Norway. In this episode, we cruise from Bjarkøy towards Finnsnes, navigating narrow shallow channels, tidal currents, fishing buoys, low clearance cables and shifting autumn winds along the Norwegian coast. We visit the beautiful island of Bjarkøy, once an important Viking centre, explore the harbour, forage for porcini mushrooms and witness the first Northern Lights of the season — a clear sign that winter is closing in fast. After a long and intense sailing year covering around 2,400–2,500 nautical miles, including adventures to Svalbard, the Norwegian coast, Tromsø and the Lofoten and Senja region, it is time to prepare Polaris for the harsh northern winter. We winterise the engine and generator with glycol, remove solar panels, protect the boat from snow and freezing temperatures, insulate the windows, drain the water system and set up remote monitoring to keep the boat safe through temperatures as low as -20°C. The episode ends with a glimpse of winter life in Arctic Norway, including ski touring, frozen landscapes and remote cabin life — before the next sailing season begins. A sailing documentary for viewers interested in Arctic sailing, Norway travel, liveaboard cruising, boat winterisation, Northern Lights, Svalbard sailing, Norwegian fjords and life aboard a sailing yacht in the far north. #ArcticSailing #sailingnorway #Arcticnorway #BoatLife #SailingDocumentary ⏳ Timestamps: 00:00 Departure From Sortland 02:32 Visit To Risøyhamn 07:36 Nergårdsvika 08:00 The Final Leg And Review Of The Season 14:15 Winter Preparations 18:07 Epilogue 🎵 Music from Epidemic Sound: Dirty Pulse by Dae Min Joe Hello Nelia by Martin Hall I'll Do It All Over Again by Mindme The Bridge by Gavin Luke 🗺️ Planning Resources: Harbours, Anchorages and Routes: Norwegian Cruising Guide: Volume 3 – Bodø to the Russian Border https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GRK77GYD https://books.apple.com/ch/book/norwegian-cruising-guide/id6760362421?l=en-GB https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=Pk3GEQAAQBAJ 🔗 Link: https://www.norwegiancruisingguide.com 💨 Weather Forecast and Routing: https://www.predictwind.com https://www.savvy-navvy.com 📺 Watch More… https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRvcLZL9-pokLoV22O1OP3p5eR32J-SDD 🚢 Subscribe & Hit the Bell 🔔 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAym9YS0z1-qYm-s47pNEfw?sub_confirmation=1 📍 Follow Our Journey: https://www.instagram.com/sailingpolaris https://www.facebook.com/sailingpolaris https://www.sailingpolaris.uk 🛥️ Ever dreamed of sailing the world?
