The Numbus C11 is an outstanding hull and in a previous video I was able to experience this in NZ on an inboard diesel version. In this video we had outboards and some lumpy offshore conditions which was just awesome to be able to triel the boat in. If you're in a warmer climate and plan on using a boat like this as a commuter for the whole family then this video could be a sensible use of your time. This is a serious boat that is best suited to the boater who know's exactly what he/she enjoys doing on the water. But if you have that clear mission in mind and that mission involves big ocean, cold winds or harsh sun/heat then you will appreciate the C11. I'm going to say this was one of the most enjoyable rides i've had in lumpy conditions this year. USS Harder (SS-257), a Gato-Class submarine was launched on August 19th, 1942, and sailed her first patrol in the Pacific on June 7th, 1943. Under the command of Samuel Dealey, Harder quickly became one of the most effective American submarines of World War II. But a fateful mission in 1944 cut her career tragically short. Incredibly, her wreck was discovered in May 2024 at the bottom of the West Philippine Sea. Several times throughout this video I say that Nicole is the only woman I've seen in real life "Doing all the hardest projects by herself in a boatyard". This is not meant to be a jab at anyone, or to say that women can't or haven't ever done this. It is simply a honest statement from what I've seen in boatyards. And something I'd like to see more of. Sailing is easy, boatyards are HARD! Anyone can set the sails, and take the helm. The real difficulties, and the obstacles that Nicole has overcome. That is what impresses me so much. I’d like to give credit where credit is deserved. Craig repaired the worm damage to the rudder and crafted the new mast step. Dylan welded the mast bracket and a spreader brace. There were also projects that I didn’t have the physical strength to do myself. The guys at the yard were quick to step in when they saw me struggling. Austin and Martin were instrumental in helping me strip the mast. Daniel removed the old bobstay. I’m also fortunate to have a wonderful community both online and in-person. The Nimbus W11 will sleep the whole family, she'll belt along at over 40kts and she'll comfortably entertain a large group for the day while carrying water toys with ease. This is a boat that lens itself to solo operation with minimal experience and she transforms into a very comfortable platform when at rest. If you had a larger sports yacht, sports cruiser or SUV style vessel in mind then this W11 is worthy of your attention because it might just be a cheaper and better alternative depending on the mission you had in mind for the next boat. It's not perfect and that beautiful big swim platform out the back does change the centre of gravity a bit. But depending on what you need I can see this W11 coming out on top in a lot of situations.
