We are replacing our standing rigging with a Hybrid Rigging, some of our stays will be changed our for "like for like" stainless steel wire stays and others will be replaced with dyneema. We are going with Synthetic rigging for a few different reasons. The first is cost, the second is the weight saving, and the third reason is because, well, we really want to give it a try! We are keeping our forestay and inner forestay as ss wire because we have furlers on those stays and we won't be able to monitor the dyneema inside. The Caps and Lowers will be changed to Dyneema and the lower section of the inner forestay where it connects to the hull at the water line will be changed to Dyneema. And our prodder is going to be changed to Dyneema as well. We are doing the rigging video in 2 parts. This is Part 2 of the Rigging Videos and this week we are doing the synthetic portion of the rigging - cutting, splicing, and stretching the dyneema. Ep 107 - Part 3 of Cruise ports with excursions. This weeks video we stop in St. Marteen and take part in a Sailing Regatta on America's cup. Sadly, there was zero wind for sailing. Then off to the Baths, Virgin Gorda BVI which exceeded our expectation. Simply stunning and I can't wait to go back. We snorkeling in Devils Bay to get to the island and then took the trail to the baths. Final stop in the Dominican Republic where we search for Manatees. Again, we didn't find any on this excursion. On our way back, we actually paid attention to the cruise port where there was sufficient items, shopping, dining and pools to keep you entertained for the day. Our week is almost up and we have our final video in the series coming up with things to do on the ship and make our way home.
