The three of us,(including 7 year old Cole our son) rode our rented mountain bikes for 16 Km today over bumpy back roads through rice paddies (literally) and villages with a stop for a swim at what is known as Blue Lagoon. Le pot au noir, que l'on pensait encore hier peu actif, est en train de redistribuer les cartes. François Gabart en est la première victime, puisqu'en l'espace de vingt-quatre heures le skipper de MACIF a perdu plus de 150 milles sur son dauphin, Armel Le Cléac'h. Le positionnement respectif des deux leaders pourrait s'avérer décisif pour la remontée de l'Atlantique Nord. Silence radio à bord de MACIF. François Gabart, solide leader depuis son entrée dans l'Atlantique Sud, a vu son avance fondre sur ses poursuivants. Les 260 milles d'hier à 11h TU, sont devenus aujourd'hui à 15h TU quelque 78 milles. Dès lors on se perd en conjectures... Le ralentissement du leader est-il dû à l'apparition sur sa route d'un ou deux cumulonimbus particulièrement virulents ou bien masque-t-il un souci technique ? Seul François Gabart connaît la réponse. Mais quand on joue la gagne à l'issue de près de trois mois de course, on peut bien concevoir que l'on n'ait pas envie de dévoiler ses cartes. Pour Armel Le Cléac'h, la donne est toute autre. Après le petit coup de mou encaissé trois jours plus tôt, le skipper de Banque Populaire est sur des charbons ardents. Autant dire que le « chacal » n'a pas renoncé à la première place. Anticiper les placements Au bout du compte, les positions respectives des deux premiers, à la sortie du pot au noir, risquent d'être déterminantes. Stratégiquement, chacun va tenter de se positionner le plus à l'est possible. Tenir cette position pour François Gabart, c'est pouvoir se placer entre son adversaire et l'arrivée et contrôler sa route. Qu'Armel tente de partir dans l'ouest ou qu'il souhaite serrer le vent, François n'aura plus qu'à l'accompagner en protégeant sa position. En revanche, si Armel Le Cléac'h parvient à maintenir le petit décalage qu'il a créé, il pourra profiter du régime d'alizés pour essayer de mettre la pression sur François Gabart, tout en étant maître de sa route. Parties d'échecs Sans aucun doute, cette remontée de l'Atlantique est sûrement la plus incertaine des étapes de ce tour du monde, en termes de stratégie. Depuis le cap Horn, les navigateurs ont dû négocier une alternance de formations de dépressions orageuses, de dorsales anticycloniques avec leur lot de zones de transition. A près de 2000 milles des leaders, le groupe, emmené par Jean Le Cam (SynerCiel) à l'ouest et Mike Golding (Gamesa) dans l'est, s'est éclaté. Arnaud Boissières (AKENA Vérandas) a choisi une route plutôt sur les traces de Le Cam quand Javier Sanso (ACCIONA 100% EcoPowered) parie sur une route à l'est. Dominique Wavre (Mirabaud) continue sur une route intermédiaire qui présente l'avantage, dans cet océan d'incertitudes, d'être proche de la route directe. D'un monde à l'autre A chaque océan ses frontières. Bertrand de Broc (Votre Nom autour du Monde) et Tanguy de Lamotte (Initiatives-cœur) goûtent au plaisir de retrouver des mers plus apaisées, de revoir quelques bouts de terre, de sentir une vie humaine plus présente. Le cap Horn, ce grand tournant, celui qui marque le début d'une nouvelle étape, devrait être doublé d'ici deux jours pour Alessandro Di Benedetto (Team Plastique). Deux autres navigateurs s'apprêtent à franchir une frontière symbolique. Jean-Pierre Dick (Virbac-Paprec 3) puis Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss) devraient bientôt franchir l'équateur. Mais pour eux, la symbolique risque de laisser le pas à la réalité de la compétition. Une troisième place, voire mieux, est en jeu. Le caractère emblématique du retour dans l'hémisphère nord risque de ne guère peser lourd face aux enjeux de la course.

Tauchgang im Naturschutzgebiet Giannutri im Oktober 2012. Gedreht wurde mit der Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ-7 im UW-Gehäuse und UW-LED Scheinwerfer. Der UW-Scooter ist der Seascooter RS-3. Die Muräne, sowie die Steckmuschel befanden sich auf 40m Tiefe. Überraschend ist der Fischreichtum in dem Schutzgebiet! Nur wenige Kilometer entfernt ist dagegen auf Giglio alles leergefischt und so ausser schöner UW-Landschaften kaum etwas zu sehen...
