They keep their yacht in the marina, so we went along to say hello. SY Pension Games is an Oyster 406, and since Esper is an Oyster 435 we couldn’t resist a look round. It was a beautiful English summer day, so we made a night of it. Jamie flew back to Thailand first and was greeted by a very fat and contented Millie-the-cat who had been spoilt by her wonderful carers while we were away. The next day he picked up a distress signal on Ch 16...but it seemed that no-one else could hear the man calling for medical assistance. We have a powerful VHF radio on SY Esper, so Jamie offered to help, and after an hour of increasingly desperate conversations medical aid was sent to the unfortunate ship. Keen to get out and sail, we had to go through more than the usual checks and services. The canvas work had been destroyed in the bad storms Jamie encountered on Ko Tarutao, the fuel pipe was leaking...and that watermaker needed some attention. Finally, we got away to our first anchorage, leaving all those stresses and troubles behind us. At least for a while... You can join the movie-making magic by supporting us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/sailorama Cockpit Sushi Recipe: You will need - 1 salmon - 1 cup rice - several tablespoons rice vinegar seasoning (or combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt) - several tbsp wasabi powder - several tbsp soy sauce - 1 leek (and/or other veggies) - fresh or package seaweed - fresh water. 1. Catch one salmon. 2. Start the rice as soon as possible. Rinse/wash it thoroughly, until water runs clear. 3. Stir several tbsp of sushi seasoning (or rice vinegar, salt, and sugar) into cooling rice. 4. Mix a bit of wasabi powder with soy sauce. 5. Cut strips of cleaned leek (and/or other available vegetables such as avocado, carrots, etc). 6. Filet and cut strips of fresh salmon. 7. Have some water available to roll seaweed. 8. Spread the seasoned rice onto seaweed, as well as salmon and veggies, using a bit of water to seal the roll as you close it. 9. Cut into sushi pieces and enjoy! Dip with remainder of wasabi, hot sauce, or whatever interesting bottles of sauce that might be found in your bilge.

The winch saga continues in Episode 15, Good & Bad Winches. For a boat so well maintained, it was a surprise to see the winches had been so neglected.
