Shortly after leaving Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas Marina and heading south on the ICW we had a shock of a lifetime when the propeller stopped and the engine quit abruptly without any warning! We soon found that we had ran over a LARGE piece of plastic while approaching a bridge. We didn't have any other further problems motoring the ICW and soon made it to Miami FL! We anchored in the Bay of Biscayne for 2 nights and then once the wind calmed down a bit we got a mooring ball at Dinner Key Marina. We were very impressed by how nice the facility was and the amazing service they have for their guests! We needed to find new filters for our water maker b/c the ones we had got dirty while we tried to clean them. We found what we needed at Shell Lumber located on the same stretch of road as the marina! We highly recommend going there for any of your boating needs! We made pudding that night which Randall accidentally burt. We didn't eat much of it, but it was still fun to make and laugh about. The next morning we left Dinner Key Marina and traveled through the Biscayne Channel and south to Elliott Key where we anchored in preparation for crossing the Gulf Stream early the next morning! We left from San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos, at sea for 8 days. On our adventure, we dove with schooling hammerheads, whalesharks, mola mola, marine iguanas and much more. A cold front came through, the outboard went down, gps was not functioning properly from the time we pulled anchor and then the big one...Inboard appears to be overheating and saltwater is mixing with the coolant. Just to name a few. Lesson learned: throw the schedule overboard.

Tunisia to Sardinia, this was our third passage for 2014 and it was a passage to remember for us as we beat our way into a Mistral Wind, turning a two hundred nautical mile passage into a three-hundred-and-fifty-mile hard wet slog. We loved our time in Sardinia, even catching the wrong bus added to our adventure. The water was warm and clear, so we spent a lot of time swimming. In this episode we make an emergency rudder to to try sail to Denia where there is a good welder that can weld us a complete inox rudder. Episode 5 We get down & start to do the dirty work. Organizing the things on the boat, taking off the cuboards and ripping out the cabinets. We still got tons of work to do but at least we finally were able to start on her. Since it's Christmas time we will be taking a break from her to spend sometime with our family and then it's back to work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently.
