On the first race of the 2018 JJ Giltinan International Championship, Asko (James Dorron, Paul Montague and Harry Beithwaite) had a pretty good run (not the fastest of the day), showing some good speed and also how those 18 footers, despite our foiling age, are still one of the sexiest boats around !

**NOW SOLD** Tallulah is a 1995 Northshore 30 now for sale exclusively with YOTI. http://www.yoti.com.au/listing/northshore-30-tallulah The Northshore 30 is very well respected Australian built yacht thanks to the Doug Peterson hull design. They are known for being quick on the race course and yet still very user friendly being tiller steered and are very easy to manage single handed. ‘Tallulah’ launched in 1995, has been well maintained by her current and previous owners with annual servicing and haul outs at Clontarf Marine. Her standing rigging was replaced in 2015 and she has been sailed regularly for twilights through the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron and more recently with the Balmain Sailing Club where she sits on the top of the leader board for her division. She has a spacious open plan interior with liveaboard facilities such as a 2-burner metho stove, interior cabin lighting, a separate fully contained head with shower, cooler box and accommodation to sleep 4 comfortably on board. She also offers easy access to the transom platform and swim ladder which makes boarding very simple and easy. Here are a few of the boat upgrade projects I'm working on this winter (2018) for our Skipper 20. New rear rail jerry jug rack, aluminum radar reflector (from old pans) and the rear rail outboard motor mount/hanger for the planned dinghy OB. Also will be installing a 11.25 gallon fresh water tank under the cockpit later when the boat gets uncovered. Was just going to put the water pump on a mount in the cabin but now figuring to add a small sink too. I need someplace to put the stove to cook below so thinking inside the sink would be a great place and take care of two things in one. This way if we get caught in bad weather for a day we can cook and get cleaned up down in the cabin.

It’s not every day you see a 50-foot sailing catamaran on the road. But each time we launch a new boat into the water we get to plan and coordinate this special day. The locals in Knysna, South Africa also get to enjoy a pretty impressive show with driving skills most would aspire to and hair-raising moments with traffic lights. The Knysna Yacht Company build boutique sailing yachts, our customization approach allows us to build a maximum of 4 yachts per year. This gives our clients the boutique experience many other boat manufacturers do not offer. Typically it takes 9 months from agreement to launching into the water, depending on the additional customization requirements requested by our clients. The transportation of a yacht from our boatyard to the Knysna Waterfront where we launch starts at approximately 4:30 am in the morning, accompanied by traffic patrol to ensure necessary road closures and forward warning the entire process can take up to 3 hours for approximately 6.7km. It’s no easy feat. But with experienced hands-on ‘deck’ and meticulous planning and driving we have successfully transported over 45 yachts safely, and without damage, to the water. Nico Poons’ Charisma proved today that there is a new player in town in the one design fleet, as they clung on to their lead from yesterday to win the RC44 Calero Marinas Cup, the opening event of the 2018 RC44 championship. But it came down to the last run of today’s last race when a final curved ball cut the Monaco-based team’s overall lead to just one point ahead of arch-rival, Team Nika. After their outstanding Saturday, defending 2017 RC44 champions Igor Lah’s Team CEEREF were still in the groove and led today’s opening race from start to finish. After posting a couple of deep results, Vladimir Prosikhin 's Team Nika was back on song for race two. The Russian team and John Bassadone’s Peninsula Petroleum opted early for the right on the first beat where they struck gold. The two boats were respectively first and second at the top mark, positions they maintained until the finish. The RC44 Calero Marinas Cup 28 February until 4 March pits the world's top businessmen and the best sailors in the industry compete in high-performance one-design 44-foot carbon racing yachts.
