A great first day brought us within 11 miles of the island, but we ran into some bad weather the next day and were forced to tack and beat for the rest of the ride. It wasn't very comfortable, but we make it! We run into another speed bump when our dinghy motor breaks down on our way to see the swimming pigs. Herby does what Herby does best and fixes it in time for us to see the silly inhabitants of Big Majors. After four years in the boatyard following her tragic accident, Magic Carpet sets sail once again! Now that she can float, we transported her to Basel, Switzerland, where we will start the long canal journey through France out to the Mediterranean. I didn't have as much time to make this episode, because we're still frantically doing last minute preparations for the canal journey.
