Chongqing is located in Southwest China. It's a beautiful city of 30M people, tucked into the rolling hills of that area. The Chinese always say the city and province are known for spicy food and it didn't disappoint. The most popular restaurant is hotpot with more than 30,000 available places to boil your meats and vegetables. At night, the city comes alive especially the area around the river and bridges. There is a 9-10 story touristy shopping area with traditional stalls and items for sale. There is also the obelisk-like monument to the People's Liberation Army, for the victory in the Sino-Chinese conflict. One of the most beautiful and unique buildings is the bright red Art Gallery tucked in the middle of downtown. This week I will spend a bit of time and explain why I have been off the boat the last 4 weeks or so. As of the date of this recording, I have been up in New Jersey for over 25 days. I know this isn't typical sailing or boat DIY work, but it is real life and what is going on with us. I hope you can be patient with us while we work on the things that are most important right now and get back to our sailing adventures very soon. While I am up in New Jersey, my lovely bride, Debbie, and the grandsquids are all back aboard SVDreamChaser and holding down the fort there, as they say. Deb has been doing some work but isn't quite as diligent as I am about filming all the stuff we do. She was able to get the boat lines all adjusted in some rough weather that happened over the last week or 2. She also went to get the dinghy from the shop where we were giving her a good tune-up. We hadn't used the dink in over a year since the big boat went into the boatyard and outboards don't do well when they just sit. Sadly that is what I let happen to it while focusing on all of the refit work on SVDreamChaser. Someone had asked me if I could share where I get all the do-rags (Due-rags, buffs, bandanas, headwear). What the heck do they even call these darn things? LOL. I got my first one as an accessory with a polisher for the boat or something like that. I loved the way it fit, but when I went to buy one at a marine supply store, they were $20-$30 each. I went on a bit of a search for cool patterns at a better price. The ones I use are not as good as the $30 jobbers but are fairly close to as good. The best news is they are about $2 per piece and I buy them in themed color packs. Leaving behind the uncomfortable mooring in Chios town, with its swelly harbour, loud music & noisy locals we sail the few miles up the coast to Langada. Here we get our best night’s sleep for ages before once more moving on heading north to Lesbos. On the way we are visited by a pod of dolphins twice and get some great footage of them bow riding & surfacing. In Skala Loutron we find a great place to chill for a few days & hire a car to explore this beautiful island. Don’t miss the Petrified trees and the best monastery I have ever seen they are amazing! We went diving with sharks with One Ocean Diving off the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. It was an amazing experience that I think is one of Oahu's best things to do. The sharks were super chill and I never felt scared or threatened the entire time we were in the water. My favorite part was being able to freedive down to get closer to them. One Ocean Diving was cofounded by Ocean Ramsey and Juan Oliphant and is based out of Haleiwa, Hawaii. We saw Sandbar and Galapagos Sharks while in the water. Una vera oasi, con tanto di vegetazione, fiori e un laghetto con acqua calda. Da lì, su dei quad, siamo andati a goderci il tramonto dai ruderi di un antico fortino romano.
