Day 2 was also a cold day for everyone. A lot of repeat long clothing was seen. Definitely a day to stay indoors. Game time, Casino time, food, drinks, Exploring and learning the ship and Seeing the difference between the Horizon.

Day 3 brought us to Cabo San Lucas and our first Horse back Excursion. After a Short Tender ride to the dock and a 30 min bus ride, we arrived at the Ranch. The excursion was what we were expected and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a nice laid back day.

This episode we show you how NOT to anchor! We sail across to the bottom of Halkidiki and drop anchor. We use the quick release handle on the anchor windlass. Because the anchor isn't holding Carl tells Jenny to lift it and try again. Jen left the windlass handle in the windlass and when using the electric power to lift the anchor the handle spun around and sheared the clutch bolt causing all 100m of chain to run overboard. Not what you want in a crowded anchorage with the wind starting to pick up. Sailing Eleuthera. Passing Current Cut. Boat engine maintenance in Cape Eleuthera Marina. From the unique Spanish Wells we motored through the famous Current Cut, with its extreme tidal current, onto the bank on the west side of Eleuthera peninsula. Over the next few days, we hopped all the way down the west side of the peninsula, anchored in several interesting bays in the wonderful sheltered lee of the north-south elongated peninsula. Then we again had to run for cover. We found shelter in the rather expensive Cape Eleuthera Marina where we stayed two days and serviced Volvo, ran an anticalc raw water engine flush, repaired the mainsail, did the laundry and gave Cloudy Bay a clean and polish. Busy but productive days. Then finally headed to our original Bahamas destination, the Exuma Islands. 14-19 Jan 2020

We get hit by a HUGE thunder storm in the middle of the night and catch it on camera. In pitch black darkness and torrential rain we have to dodge through a fleet of fishing boats and avoid collisions with cargo ships. In this episode we show you what it is like to sail at night in a thunder storm. Thunder storms are the norm here in the Malacca straits but they can be very scary with the risk of being struck by lightning. Here we also have the risk of being hit by another boat and run down by a cargo ship as well. We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfil our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. 25th of January 2020 I set out again for another North Sea crossing to get to Shetland and the impressive Up Helly Aa vikingfestival. With 4 degrees celsius, gale winds on the nose, and 4-6 meter waves it is all set for a real battle agains the elements. Hello Friends, I made this video to show my viewers a project that didn't work out. I bought a small 50 watt solar panel that I wanted to install someplace out of the way and decided to try and remake my aft hatch into a solar hatch. I knew that 50 watts doesn't do much for charging your batteries and is more of a trickle charger than anything but I wanted something to keep juice in the batteries when at anchor or if the power went out at the dock. We plan on adding solar to our quarter rails so this would have just been the first small panel in the set up. I designed the hatch to be positionable using RAM mounts on either side allowing the panel to be adjusted and pointed towards the sun in various directions. I also installed a rubber latch aft so any breaking waves over the stern wouldn't rip the panel off the hinged base. I took the wood structure to the boat to test fit it and made a critical error during my test fit. I didn't screw the hinges into the new hatch as it would be mounted on the final install. Instead I simply opened it as I would with the regular hatch and it appeared I still had plenty of room to access the lazarette. In doing so I was pivoting the hatch on the lower part of the panel housing and not where the hinges mount to. In the end I thought the design was a good idea so I wanted to make this video to share with everyone in case this sort of idea can be implemented onto your boat or project in some way. Diving in Koh Lipe is phenomenal unless you unluckily choose the 3 week period the coral spawns. But, in search of macro critters, the viz was little more than an annoyance and detraction from the gorgeous corals and scenery. You can look closer and zero in on the details of interest and easily skip to the next location. Please think of this as a photo album that is not a collection of one directional images that you have to click on one at a time. This process is easier, faster and a more efficient way for you to spend your time versus the old method of clicking on 360 photos one at a time and waiting for them to load. There is background music instead of voice overs so that you can jump around without missing anything. Besonders am Heck ist der Gelcoat ausgekreidet, hat Mikrorisse und grössere Löcher und stellenweise scheint das Laminat durch. Der Tipp vom Profi lautet: solange du den Gelcoat noch polieren kannst, mach nichts anderes. Tja, an dem Punkt sind wir nun, denn der Gelcoat wurde die letzten 50 Jahre zu Tode poliert! Normalerweise geht man wie folgt vor: Haarrisse ausdremeln, füllen mit Epoxid, das Deck plan schleifen, Primer auftragen und lackieren. Das Problem ist einfach, dass Lack nicht besonders fest ist und sehr leicht Kratzer bekommt. Und der ganze Prozess ist so eine Heidenarbeit, das will ich nicht in ein paar Jahren nochmal machen müssen. Ausserdem: wer einmal mit Epoxid arbeitet, kann nachher nicht mehr zu Polyester wechseln. Daher Plan B: Ich öffne alle Haarisse mit dem Dremel, fülle sie mit Polyesterharz statt Epoxidharz, schleife alles plan und trage dann eine komplette neue Schicht Gelcoat auf. So bleibe ich bei Polyesterharz (denn Gelcoat und Topcoat sind beide ebenfalls auf Polyesterbasis) und habe kein Gemisch von verschiedenen Substanzen an Deck. Diese Prozedur ist hierzulande unbekannt und mag daher etwas unkonventionell erscheinen. In Amerika ist sie jedoch weit verbreitet. Es läuft nicht alles nach Plan... Aber seht selbst! In this vlog we sail to Cyprus. Cyprus is an interesting island. It is divided into a Turkish and a Greek part. We can only visit the Greek part since no other country (except from Turkey) acknowledges this part. That makes it hard for us to sail from this Northern part to other countries. We stay on the South side. There are not many good anchorages here, but its doable. We discover an abandoned shipwreck near Paphos and we visit a youth cafe from Youth for Christ in Limassol.
