Nous avons pu assister au Heiva 2019 à Makemo. Un festival de chants, danses et sports traditionnels, entre les habitants des atolls de Makemo, Raroia, Katiu, Takume et Taenga. C'était un super moment, on était très privilégiés d'être ici parmi les paumotu, car il y a très peu de vols pour venir et l'on était juste une petite dizaine de bateaux au mouillage. A bordo di Almagores 2 saranno 17 giorni di traversata, di regata, di avventure, di foto, di video. 18 video dalla partenza a Cape Town all'arrivo a Rio. +1 E calata e girato l'aria allora abbiamo issato il gennaker. Nel mio turno di notte è arriva anche un po di pioggiarelina. E sempre nuvoloso la notte e la mattina, poi si apre e poi picchia il sole. I miei compagni di turno sono sempre le stesse, timoniamo mediamente 40' per turno per lasciare tempo a tutti durante le nostre 4 ore. Nel pomeriggio strabismo per un migliore avvicinamento.

Blake and Toby start our sailing family holiday at Kawau Island. We sailed around the back of Kawau Island and Anna (Blake and Toby’s mum) got to swim with 5 dolphins, they started to jump around and that was when Anna noticed a large hammerhead shark. After she saw the hammerhead shark she quickly swam back to the boat and then went out for a kayak with Blake. They didn’t see the dolphins again, which is a real shame because we didn’t get close up or under water video of the dolphins. Blake and Toby then met up with their cousins who also have a Davidson 28 foot yacht. We meet up with them a lot and play on the shore, find flowers and wildlife. This time the boys went looking for Weka (a New Zealand native bird). Weka eat bugs and plants and are the size of a chicken. This particular Weka bird was very curious and the boys had a lot of fun watching the flightless bird. We then finish by continuing on our summer holiday sailing trip to Waiheke Island, before we head over to the Coromandel. Paul (Blake and Toby’s dad) wins a running race and accidentally makes Toby cry. See you next time! In this video I discuss what my dream 12-inch MacBook would be. It's rumored to be coming back in 2021 with a ARM Processor, & I literally couldn't be more excited.

We get the maintenance done on 'Town Fox' and then transfer ourselves back onboard for a couple of months of cruising. We spend a couple of weeks in the Hauraki Gulf in Auckland before sailing to Tauranga. Then we leave and sail north visiting Great Mercury and Great Barrier Islands. Dan takes over the video and editing duties and starts making all the music in GarageBand! We are a family of six who are taking some time out of normal life to travel. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a motorhome in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world. We’re keeping our memories on video here and the kids write narration and play guitars so we have music to use in the videos.

After leaving one of the best anchorages we've ever spent time in, we need to seriously think about making the trip to our winter berth in Plymouth. Sailing out of the Sound of Mull and back into the Firth of Lorne, we're now back into the same cruising grounds we entered Scotland on in the spring. We pop into the town of Oban to get some errands done, which had been building up over the past few weeks. But because they have a 3 night max stay, it's not long before we're back at anchor. Tucked into a calm and very secluded spot just a few miles away, we enjoy more breathtaking scenery and our last nights at anchor before it's time to make our way down the Irish Sea. Enjoy! We are hoping to sail to Jamaica to join our friends, but we have a HUGE passage in front of us with numerous challenges, pirates only being one of them!! We need to fight strong currents, unfavorable winds, numerous shoals and shallow areas, and the known PIRATE WATERS around Nicaragua. We battle with a little sea sickness, low sleep and low food intake while encountering storms, super rough seas, all while under the treat of nearing known pirate waters which have claimed their fair share of yachts in recent years.
