An awesome funny week on board of Seatramp! The two German's we met last week decided to stay a few days on board. We have to go to Carti for shopping, playing a lot, loss a lot of bet games and finally Mrs. Funky Fresh makes wonderful breakfast for the crew - and makes us all laughing about a typical German song '"Atemlos".

I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel the world. I make vlogs sharing my ups and downs, and my adventures in vans, on motorbikes, and on sailboats. - Who is Champ? Champ is my handsome 14-year-old Labrador, who travelled almost everywhere with me for his whole life. He loves chin scratches, fetching sticks, and scarfing down cheeseburgers and pizza. - What camera equipment do you use? I use a Panasonic FZ2500, a DJI Mavic Pro, a Rode video micro with Deadcat, a Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, as well as DIY tripods and lights. - What are your vehicles? I drove a 1992 Dodge Ram B350 camper van all over North America for about two years. Travelling by motorcycle made for some unique trips. I explored the Canadian Maritimes (and deserts and backroads all over the continent) on a 2002 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa dual sport bike, and also rode my 1999 Yamaha V-Star XVS1100 cruiser with a Champion Escort sidecar across my home country twice. From land to water travels: I currently live and work on a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 catamaran. - What are your plans with the boat? I will fix it up, run it on nothing but green electric power, and sail off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the growing build and the adventures to come! - How do you find all these cool places we see in the videos? To gain access to my complete research and the world traveller’s map I curate during my explorations off the beaten path, you need to hit me up on Patreon. Here are a few websites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/, https://www.campendium.com/, http://www.atlasobscura.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - How do you afford your lifestyle? I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.
We'd like your help! We've made some very good friends these past years via the project. A lot of which are doing some very cool things. At the last WoodenBoat Show at Mystic Seaport, we met up with a group of them and hatched a plan. Our friends at SAILCARGO have set up a ship yard in Costa Rica and are building a 147ft (45m) cargo ship from sustainably harvested wood with the plan of sailing cargo up and down the west coast of the Americas. Along with building the boat, they also provide some community events, teaching locals classes, including boat building. While we were chatting at the show we and a few other friends decided to all storm the place in February and teach a course on simple forging and tool making techniques. Before we head down there though, we would like to ship down some tools to help with the class and the boatyard. We're asking anyone who would like to help by donating tools or supplies to send us what they have. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. After 4 months refitting our sailboat that was abandoned for the past 22 years it's time to answer some of the questions we have been receiving. If you are new here... we are a Brazilian couple that have just bought a 44ft hot galvanized steel sailboat (Dinieper Tropic 1200) and is on the mission of bringing her back to life after 22 years abandoned on the hard. Once we are done, the plan is to sail her to our home town Florianópolis so we can finish building our land base, a Tiny Shipping Container House that we are building ourselves without any prior experience. Our boat almost SANK - NOW WHAT? | 83 | Beau and Brandy Sailing If you watched last week, we were rescued by two fishermen about 60 nautical miles of the coast of Grenada. After patching the crack with underwater epoxy that the fishermen passed us, we were able to stop the leak and finish our VERY SLOW sail to Grenada. We have some friends that help us get our boat hauled out in Clark’s Court Marina. While on the hard, Beau gets some professional advice on the best way to fix the crack. We have a week on the dry and we have a lot of work to do. After grinding and sanding, we find more cracks on the port side in the same place that we found the crack on the starboard side. We also take out the water tank because it is causing damage to the freeboard, so we will be installing a water bladder mid ship for the future. Days and night of sanding, grinding, laying fiberglass and more sanding, we are ready to get Saoirse back in the boat and see if she will FLOAT! New T - shirts inspired by this experience and all the awesome support you all give us everyday! When you get yours, be sure to grab a pic of you wearing it and we will be giving yall a shoutout on our future video! All proceeds of these shirts are going straight to helping restore Saoirse! Season 5 Episode 93 - A lay day on shore exploring the Pacific Northwest On this weeks episode we settle in for a few days in Neah Bay due to an approaching weather front and make our way to Port Angeles to rent a car for the day. The skies cleared for us as we got to Cape Flattery and got to see this incredible landscape from the shore and the air before the front we were hiding from slowly made its way in. If this is the first Yacht Delivery Chronicles video you have seen heres a little bit of background of what this Season and miniseries is all about. This new season follows James and Camille on a delivery onboard a 74ft Power Yacht they were hired to crew on under then command of Captain Dave Stovall. The delivery which was planned for 9 days took 16 days due to failing boat systems and rough spring weather on the coast of the Pacific Northwest. There are not too many places in the Caribbean where you can anchor alone on beautiful beach that stretches for more than 11 miles. But in Barbuda, it's pretty easy to find yourself all alone - perfect for spending New Years Eve from about as far away from civilization as you can get. No fireworks, but it's one fantastic place for a bonfire with the people you love! POSTING DAILY ON SOCIAL: https://www.instagram.com/the_sailing_family/ https://www.facebook.com/the-sailing-family-voyage/ ----------------- ABOUT US: Welcome aboard. We are a family of five sailing around the world on our "dream boat," a performance catamaran named "Archer." Ten years ago, before kids, we sailed a Lagoon 380 named "Honeymoon" halfway around the world to Sydney, Australia. Along the way we shared our experiences with family and friends via YouTube, and by happenstance created one of the first sailing channels. But more than anything, we realized what an incredible experience that first trip was and that someday we wanted to do it again, only this time with kids. We want to share with them the importance of taking time to be with family. To show them a world outside of the one they grew up in. We want them to appreciate how lucky we are to experience (and to care for) the natural beauty of this world. But mostly we want to spend time with our kids during these formative years and create lasting memories as a family. That's why we are sharing our videos weekly - thanks for watching! OUR BOAT is a Ferrari red Outremer 51 performance cruising catamaran. We chose this boat as it has been specifically designed for the purpose of bluewater sailing. It was designed and built to withstand the stress of sailing multiple times around the world safely and in comfort. It's also a speed demon, which is important when you want to cover large distances of water before the weather changes. Lastly, it's backed by the manufacturer with outstanding customer service and aftermarket support, so we believe she will hold her value well. And, she's nice on the eyes too. OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and then on to the Panama Canal. At the time of posting this we are dealing with a repair in the South Pacific, and in 2020 we hope to be in New Zealand and Southeast Asia. By 2021 we will be in the Med and close to completing our circumnavigation. PLEASE COMMENT!: As a "family channel," we are required to actively monitor all comments, but we still want to hear from you. Tell us what you think! THANKS for watching all. Subscribe right now and never miss an episode!
In this episode we are leaving Manhattan behind us, we pick up our rental car in Jersey and we are starting our first trip to the Niagara Falls. We have a lot of fun in Niagara national park. It is a world wonder. Next we stop for the night in Buffalo, where the kids play some games as the sun sets.
Not clickbait... Nicole and Kahaia get wet and wild testing different brands of sunscreen that are safe for coral reefs. We plant some coral with the Coral Gardeners, an incredible conservation group based out of Moorea (Tahiti) and we dive deep into the Pacific Ocean with Under the Pole, a research team (and fellow sailors) pushing the limits of research SCUBA diving. It was brought to my (Nicole) attention that Sun Bum is not reef safe even though on their website they claim to be. Although it was fun to use Sun Bum in this episode, it is NOT reef safe. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it. Much love Carla and Simon
The 2019 season on Strangford Lough in Northern Island saw some big breezes with at least 6 races sailed in ove 20 knots, with a few rain squalls peaking above 40. The team on GTR racing stayed calm through all the big blows, with tight team work and expert trimming getting the boat setup to glide through the waves onto more that 1 victory when the wind was up. Sit back and relax as GTR Racing makes some waves during the 2019 season.
