This episode marks a milestone — my first solo move aboard W. Grebe, our classic wooden sailboat. I start the classic Sabb diesel engine and test the variable-pitch propeller while moving her to a new slip. A little bit of mayhem at the final moments! The Norwegian Sabb diesel is an unusual engine — hand-crankable, simple, and built like a tank. Starting it is unorthodox but deeply satisfying. With the variable-pitch prop, docking requires finesse rather than throttle. It’s a learning curve, but everything works smoothly as Grebe moves under her own power once again. If you’re into traditional boats, slow engineering, or bringing old vessels back to life, you’ll enjoy this one. The Dufour 412 Grand Large from 2016 (launched 2017) is an elegant and capable performance cruiser that has been meticulously cared for by her single private owner. Never chartered and always maintained to a high standard, she presents in very good condition with regular servicing and thoughtful upgrades, including the powerful Volvo Penta D2-55F (55hp) engine with just 1,600 hours. Still here in Almerimar doing boat-jobs, thankfully it feels like we're getting to the end of the list now and I'm counting down the weeks before we're in the water again! This weeks jobs are super important as we are fitting all new through hulls and seacocks with new pipe work, so we will be all nicely water tight with no leaking thru-hulls like we had the other year! With all new gel-coat, thru-hulls and soon copper-coat we should be good for years guys before needing lifting again! 😃👍 Thank you to our wonderful patrons, you are really helping to make all this possible! The new Princess F58 has every reason to be considered a queen in her class. A mobile aft bar unlocks an exceptionally spacious layout, while the flybridge offers multiple seating areas around a height-adjustable table that easily converts into a sunpad. Shade? Choose between a sliding air top with extendable aft canopy or an electro-hydraulic bimini. Inside, the saloon connects seamlessly with the galley and dining table, creating a vast lounge area to enjoy in any climate — always with a view to the sea. The full-beam owner’s suite features a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite cleverly positioned aft of the bed, for privacy worthy of a superyacht. Sporty at heart, the most powerful option delivers twin MAN 1200 hp engines, 27–28 knots of cruising speed and up to 34 knots at top end. Crew quarters can even be configured as a twin cabin. From the Seabob locker above the grill to refined seating solutions, the new F58 leaves nothing to chance. Here in the mountains, far from the ocean, they’ve bred a special freshwater salmon — a cross between rainbow trout and brown trout, that can’t reproduce. Kein Tag ohne Tiere.

Guys, we recently dropped anchor inside a volcano. Yep, that’s right, Maug is this ring of three little islands in the Northern Marianas, and together they form the rim of a sunken crater. So technically, we’re floating right in the middle of an ancient eruption. The water here is insanely clear, and the walls of the volcano just plunge down beneath us. What’s the craziest place you’ve ever spent the night? 😉 Drop myself and Riley a story in the comments below!

It took us 4 days and 3 nights to sail from Fiji to Vanuatu. It was a rough sail and the teens and I were seasick the whole time. We were very glad to drop the anchor at Port Resolution. This is another spot where Captain Cook and his men stopped. We first saw on of their ports when we were sailing down the coast of Vancouver. This anchorage was very rolly but it did have cool steam vents from the active volcano on the Island of Tanna. #sailingkashmir #wakethenations #travel #sailingtheworld #vlog #oceanvolt #familyfriendly #islandsinsouthpacific #hotsprings #steamvents #familysailingtheworld #sailingwithteens

Watch Behind The Scenes Cameras Here: https://sailingmisslonestar.com SUPPORT THE FILMS: https://www.patreon.com/misslonestar We’re back on the water — this time in GREECE! 🇬🇷 I take two of my friends (and yes, baby Violet!) to meet up with Bobby White from Sailing Doodles for one epic collaboration. Together, we set sail on a luxury catamaran sponsored by Istion Yachting — and what starts as a dream trip quickly turns into a test of patience, teamwork, and nerves when a classic Mediterranean mooring goes sideways. Between crystal-clear waters, stunning Greek islands, and a few tense moments at the helm, this adventure has it all — laughter, stress, and the reminder that even seasoned sailors can lose their cool when docking in tight quarters! 👉 Watch till the end to see how we pull it off (and who keeps their calm). 📍 Filmed in the Greek Islands aboard an Istion Yachting Catamaran ⚓ Featuring: Sailing Miss Lone Star, Sailing Doodles, and baby Violet #SailingMissLoneStar #SailingDoodles #CatamaranLife #MedMooring #GreeceSailing #IstionYachting #SailingAdventure #SailingFamily #TravelVlog #SailingYouTubers

Upgrade your skin with Captain's Salve: https://www.captainssalve.com Beneath layers of overgrowth and time lies an abandoned Jesuit monastery hidden on the Greek island of Naxos, untouched, undocumented, and almost erased from the historical record. But who were the Jesuits really? Missionaries? Master educators? Or a secretive religious order whose power stretched across Vatican politics, European empires, and even modern conspiracy theory? In this video, we walk through the haunting ruins of this forbidden religious site, piecing together the hidden history of the Society of Jesus, a group so powerful they were once feared by kings and banned by popes. We explore: Jesuit origins and their role in the Counter-Reformation How they became the Church’s most feared and respected order Their influence in global education, politics, and colonization Suppression, exile, and whispered secrets in Vatican archives Why this abandoned monastery may have been left to rot—and what it still hides From esoteric symbolism to strategic positioning within the Ottoman Empire, this is more than an urban exploration. It’s a doorway into a suppressed chapter of Catholic history—one that still casts shadows in global affairs today.

Big waves, strong winds, and the answer to our biggest question: are stabilizers on a monohull really better than a catamaran? This 64-foot trawler has been smooth, quiet, and surprisingly efficient, but comfort means nothing if it can’t take a beating. So, when 30 knots of wind and steep, choppy seas rolled in, we pointed the bow straight into it. What happened next was part science experiment, part thrill ride, and a whole lot of respect. Between dodging whirlpools, hauling crab pots, and hanging out with whales, this final stretch gave us what we came looking for and more. _______________ WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Things We're Most Curious About... GETTING OFF-GRID Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. TALKING TO STRANGERS People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment. Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving. ALTERNATIVE LIVING These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community.
