We LOSE our PROP & STORM SAILING in the British Virgin Islands (BVI's) We have a little excitement after a fun filled and booze fuelled evening...after sleeping off the fog of the night before, we weigh anchor only to find that the boat loses drive as the anchor came up. As we drifted backward toward the reef, we had to do an emergency anchor deployment. With some time on our hands, we visit the world-famous Soggy Dollar bar. We waited on the charter company to repair their failing vessel, and once whole again, we went out yet again for some more Storm Sailing in 30 knot winds and very lively seas! We fly off to the British Virgin Islands to Charter a Sailboat, Josh is hired to Captain the vessel for a group of new-to-sailing keeners, show them the ropes, expedite a training program based on ASA training syllabus, plus a wealth of knowledge obtained over his lifetime of sailing. Of course, the constraints of time and editing will see some gaps from the viewers perspective as to several aspects of the training, but we try to share some highlights...and there is no shortage of drama to unfold during this mini-series of our time sailing in the BVI's! Evinrude has been around since 1907, founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mercury Marine, its closest competitor, is located not far from Milwaukee in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Evinrude started losing ground to Mercury and also Yamaha by falling behind in the power race. It also kept its two-stroke engines that required owners to mix oil with gasoline. The new Salish Voyager is nearly complete! Before we finalize the interior, we need to make sure the boat performs as designed under sail and that the daggerboard is exactly where we want it. Once the mold is built, there's no going back! She's temporarily outfitted with the lug rig from our demo 12' Scamp for testing purposes. The Salish Voyager will have a very similar rig to what you see here, with some adjustments to the attachment points, etc. Even unfinished, she sails like a dream! Now that we know where the daggerboard trunk will sit, we can finalize the interior and then we'll have our production mold so we can start filling orders. If all goes well, we should start construction on Salish Voyager #1 in just a few weeks!

Hi everyone, As usual, we are so happy to welcome you to our channel. This episode is one of the last one in Panama. As you know we are right now preparing our boat to cross the Panama Canal to sail toward Polynesia. But this episode is about few months ago, and we wanted to show you how we celebrated Easter in this archipelago during containment. It was unbelievable but Mum and Dad got some chocolates and fortunately we had some friends we spent quarantine with so we were not alone. In this video we also cleaned the entire island because the indigenous are not allowed to move anymore so they cannot come to clean isolated islands like this one, so we did it and it was fun.
