Trova il suo equilibrio nell'instabilità, vive e gioca con essa. L'uomo di terra, più ragionevole, non si fida di questo mondo in movimento. A volte, però, succede che le sirene lo attraggano. Cane toad races are held on a weekly basis at Magnetic Island. Each toad is distinguished by a colored ribbon. The cane toads are auctioned off by an entertaining spruiker. Once all the toads have been purchased, the toads are placed in the center of a circle and first toad to reach the outside of the circle is the winner with the owner collecting. Cane toad racing is used to raise money for charity.

Il restauro compiuto dagli architetti Stefano Biondo e Paola Misuraca, della sovrintendenza di Trapani, ha dato nuovo lustro all'immobile di grandiosa bellezza. Il lavoro, finanziato con i fondi del Por 2000-2006, è cominciato alla fine del 2003 e completato nel giugno del 2009 per un importo complessivo di circa 14 milioni e mezzo di euro. Nell'antica struttura che si trova nella più grande delle isole Egadi (favignana), sono stati ricavati spazi museali, una sala conferenze da 400 posti e una foresteria. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- L' isola di Favignana forma con le più piccole Marettimo e Levanzo l'arcipelago delle Isole Egadi, e trae il suo nome dal vento Favonio, lo Zefiro, che rende il suo clima particolarmente mite. Riconoscibile per la sua singolare forma di farfalla con le ali spiegate (formate dalla Piana ad ovest ed il Bosco a est, unite al centro dalla montagna Grossa alta 315 metri), la sua posizione nel cuore del Mediterraneo ha fatto sì che fin dalla preistoria vi sorgessero i primi insediamenti umani, come testimoniano le tracce delle prime tribù paleolitiche nelle grotte vicino alla cala S. Nicola, per secoli porto dell'isola (altre grotte graffite in età paleolitica e neolitica, tra cui la famosa grotta "del genovese", si possono ammirare nella vicina Levanzo). Dista da Trapani 10 miglia, conta circa 4.600 abitanti. Favignana, dominata dal Monte di S. Caterina, dove ogni anno a Maggio si ripete il rito antico della pesca del tonno,accoglie il visitatore con la regalità della Tonnara Florio, esempio imponente di archeologia industriale, ma anche con l'eleganza e la leggerezza tipica dello stile liberty del Palazzo Florio; lo affascina con la limpidezza del suo mare ricco di storia ove si combattè la battaglia navale delle Isole Egadi nel 241 a.C. tra Romani e Cartaginesi; lo cattura con il silenzio delle sue cale: cala Rossa, cala Azzurra, Grotta Perciata, cala Rotonda;lo stupisce con i colori della sua campagna. With BMW Oracle's victory in the America's Cup, San Francisco has the opportunity to host yachting's most prestige's regatta in 2013. If we are going to see big fast catamarans on San Francisco Bay in three years, we've all got to pull together and make sure our bid is the best. Hey, when the Melges 32 class signed on for sailing their World Championship on San Francisco Bay, what did they expect? Big Breeze!!! Thirty Two boats showed up on the starting line for a ten race series over four days. Everyone got what they expected. Two days where they sailed three races in winds that topped out over twenty knots and two days where they only needed to sail two races. To say the teams were tired each evening would be an understatement. Any one of the top eight boats could have won this competition. There were the stalwarts of the class, teams like STAR and Red as well as a large number of teams with long pedigrees in other, larger, one design classes like Warpath, Goombay Smash and Samba Pa Ti. Skill, luck and just being in the right spot helped decide the winner as 8 different teams took at least one first place finish.

This was our first away game this season. We played on this same field last year losing our only game of the season on a cold wet muddy morning. Field conditions were horrible that day, and it took our speed game away. I look at this field now, 10 months later reliving that morning . from the 40 yard line going 60 yards o the opposite end zone is a patch of dirt that turns to mud the minute it starts to rain, taking our speed away from us that day. We lost our first playoff game EYC 6 BYC 0 Today would be different....... Another one sided victory is what happened today. My son #3 and I are both new to York City Football, it being his second year, and me moving here from Houston to ensure there was development in his football, and baseball skills a few years ago. I was disappointed in the number of teams in the league last year, and wondered why there was no Pop Warner Football here. Then I recently learn that York County and Adams County have combined Counties and have their own York/Adams County Football League. Over 20 teams I counted at least in both the leagues. York City is right smack in the middle of York County with 3 majority Black and Hispanic teams in a league of about 8 teams. That brings the total number of teams in both counties to almost 30. Why are they leaving the black teams out of their rain deer games? I mean there is not even a playoff match-up between the leagues. York City is the biggest city in both counties! Why keep the black teams out your league? 32 - 0 is one of the reasons why. My lil gentlemen play football, it would be nice to crown a real football champion in the counties and stop the nonsense.
