Tyler grew up sailing in San Diego first in Sabots and then in Snipes crewing for his Dad. He's a big fan of how helpful everyone is in the Snipe Class whether its talking about boat tune in the parking lot or sail trim on the water. He sees everyone works at raising the level of competition for all the boats. Sailing at this year's Nationals, Tyler was one of a dozen young skippers fighting for a top 5 finish.

This summer we took the Pancake up north for a round trip of Scandinavia. Ultimate goal was to round the north cape with our plane, but there was more than enough to see along the road. First destination Copenhagen, via Roskilde airport, next stop Oslo and the magnificent fjords towards the west coast of Norway. In the last segment of Part 1 we fly north along the Norwegian coast until we cross to the even more beautiful Lofoten.

Holly met her husband at the first Snipe regatta she ever sailed. It was the North American's in 1994. Sixteen years latter, she's got two young children and expects to be sailing Snipes with them for the next 20 years. What's kept Holly so active in the Class? It's the people. She's made friends from coast to coast as she and her husband have sailed in big and small regattas around the country. That makes it no surprise that she encourages collegiate sailors to come out and get hooked.

Megan Place started sailing Snipes just over three years ago. She was in High School sailing and loved the challenges that sailing a technical boat like the Snipe offers the crew. She teamed up with Ernesto Rodriguez and the two of them placed third at last year's Snipe World Championship - the highest ranking US team at the Worlds. She believes that even though the other teams may be her competition, helping one team raises the bar for all the competitors.

Kim started sailing Snipes 14 years ago. She has sailed as crew with Carol Cronin for most of her Snipe career and they are one of the top women's teams in the US Snipe fleet. They've won the Women's Nationals the last several years and competed in the Western Hemisphere's in September. Kim has found a love for the class and the people in it. She likes the friendly competition and the way everyone is open to sharing information to improve the Snipe Class as a whole.

On our way back in the Pancake from the north cape to the Netherlands. Part 3 starts as we evade rushing thunderstorms from Lulea on our way to Helsinki. Then we fly to Stockholm Bromma and spend almost a week in the beautiful city. In the last couple of days we have to divert to Aarhus where we are stranded until another storm front passes.

Part 2 starts at the Harley Davidson meeting in Svolvaer (Lofoten, Norway). After the Lofoten we will visit Spitsbergen / Svalbard and we will round the North Cape with the Pancake.

Nel suo complesso si tratta di una barca di buon livello con un ottima stratificazione e un bel disegno delle linee d'acqua al quale si affianca una certa cura nella realizzazione degli interni, tuttavia una serie di problemi più o meno gravi, derivati soprattutto, a nostro parere, da errori di progettazione del piano di coperta e degli interni, richiedono una maggiore attenzione nela scelta della versione da acquistare.

Brian started sailing Snipes in Miami when he was 10 or 11 years old. He had success in collegiate sailing and when he graduated, he was looking for a boat that had tough competition on the water but also had great camaraderie on shore. He'd found that in the Snipe and now he's found success too. His second place finish in the 2010 Nationals got him a slot at next year's Snipe World Championship in Denmark.

Enrique Quintero began his career sailing Snipes with multi National Champion Ernesto Rodriquez in Miami. As collegiate sailors he and Tomas Hornos won the 2007 World Championship in Portugal. In 2010 he finished 2nd with skipper Brian Kamilar at the Nationals in Annapolis. The young sailor describes what it is a good crew brings to a wining team and a deep appreciation for the sense of family in the Snipe Class.
