Cloud Nine came in to the Multimarine yard at the end of the last season for a refit, and went back into the water on the morning of Friday July 1st 2011. Her owners, brothers Chris and Peter, have a summer of cruising fun with their families ahead of them.

Each year, US SAILING, holds championships for junior sailors. The U.S. Junior Women's Singlehanded Championship is open to all junior women sailors so that up and coming juniors can learn by close contact with those who've mastered the Laser Radial dinghy. In 2011 the regatta was hosted by the Richmond Yacht Club in California and 56 girls between the ages of 13 and 19 competed on San Francisco Bay. The Bay is never very warm in the summer but you can almost always count on breeze. The girls who live in light air venues had a good time in the first four races of the series. After that the Bay lived up to its reputation and skill and stamina played a big part of winning. Going into the last day, any of the top four boats could have won the regatta. With a 1st and two 2nd's, Kelly McGlynn from the Little Egg Harbor YC won the regatta handily. Christina Frost from the St. Petersburg YC and Kaitlyn Baab from the St. Francis YC fought it out for second and third with the decision coming down to the last leg of the last race.

t2p was up in Newport, RI for the J Class Regatta where Velsheda and Ranger went head to head match race style. 130 feet, 200 tons worth of boat times 2 with a history to match them. As we left the lock, you can hear the 5 loud signals that indicate the bridge is closing. The guys gave me a heart attack as I quickly hit reverse and started to turn the boat around in this narrow channel. Deb stopped filming as we came pretty close to hitting the side wall of the lock as I turned around. But just after the long and short blast indicating that it was going back up, I heard the bridge operator come on the radio and apologize for "scaring the hell out of the pleasure boater" He sure did.

Beautiful sounds of jazz, island, and pop music added an extra special island atmosphere at Green Island as two world renowned ukulele players performed at Great Adventures Ukulele Island Gig. Thrilling the crowd with his energetic and fun performance, famous Japanese ukulele artist Iwao Yamaguchi, said the ukulele was a peace instrument in bringing people together. And it certainly was as an enthusiastic gathering of the four-stringed instrument's fans came together to enjoy the amazing performances by Hawaii-born Craig Chee and Iwao. Part of the Cairns Ukulele Festival, Craig was also joined on stage by other performers including Matt Dahlberg, Victoria Vox and Lorenzo Vignando. Following their hour-long performances, Craig and Iwao conducted a workshop for enthusiasts to learn some news playing skills. A fun jam session followed to complete the day's program.
