James Wharram Tangaroa 35' home built Catamaran. This boat is a traditional style of Catamaran. It was designed so the average handyman could build a boat and go sailing. The design dates back to the 1950's so I have made a few changes such as added a centerboard and a bit more cabin space to accommodate a few more comforts. Sie fallen weiter ab, die Fock hängt schlaff hinter dem weit geönneten Großsegel. Das Kommando von Uschi lautet: Über die Fock, und Woll zieht sie auf die andere Seite. Vorwindkurs liegt an. Käpten Sailnator ist zufrieden und macht für heute Feierabend. Aber da ist ja noch Rentner Peter. Der hat bemerkt, dass Käpten Sailnator seine Boje vergessen hat. A clip of Liz helming s/y Esper half way across the Indian Ocean, part of our 1,500 mile trip from the Maldives to Malaysia. We're running downwind in WSW Force 6 (though if you look carefully our wind display shows us close-reaching, which is a lie as our display is faulty). Our headsail furling gear had packed up so no goosewinging here, I'm afraid, but with the NE currents we didn't need it. And hand-steering? Our auxiliary rudder fell off 500 miles into the trip! Did the 2013 'Round Bowen for one more "around the island race" for s/v Moonshine. This race was about 18 nautical miles compared to the 43 nautical mile race for the 'Round Saltspring. We finished in 5 hrs, 8 mins and I was happy with the winds that allowed almost the entire fleet of 120 boats to finish! www.facebook.com/LifeisLikeSailing
